My GTI is the worst GTI.
I like the GTI. My GTI is more broken than it should be. Everyone else with a GTI doesn't have these issues. I want to be like them.
I can't tell if you're actually too dumb to understand that point or you're choosing the be ignorant to stir the pot.

VW is not just going to give you random shit like subwoofer installs.
Accept them fixing your car and get over it.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

Sure, if that's what happens, that's what happens. No reason to not be prepared for all situations.
Y'all are so ridiculous some times. I can't propose a situation without you assuming that situation is what I expect? You constantly tug in every direction and take everything as an absolute truth in order to fight each other to get the edgiest comment in. Nobody cares about helping, they just care about looking the most "correct."
We did care about helping, then you waffled for six pages. That turns people off from helping because it makes it seem like you don't actually want help or to listen to people. This isn't the first subject you've done this on. Ever wonder why no one really engaged on your motorcycle thread?

It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Thanks for all of the advice, everyone. I'll post an update when this is all over. Until then, bicker among yourselves.

I'd argue they are actually miles ahead of your GTI because ti's always in the shop..... But yeah, those cars are crap overall.

Sorry, a post not a thread: http://forum.mmsports.org/showthread.php...#pid290318
This is a repeating cycle, whether you realize it or not. It's not just all of us being being assholes... it's us trying to help and *then* being assholes when it's clear you don't actually want advice.

Now: 07 Porsche Cayman S | 18 VW Tiguan
Then: 18 VW GTI Autobahn | 95 BMW M3 | 15 VW GTI SE | 12 Kia Optima SX | 2009 VW GTI | 00 BMW 540i Sport | 90 Mazda Miata | 94 Yamaha FZR600R | 1993 Suzuki GS500E | 2003 BMW 325i | 95 Saab 900S
The GTI does very well in the snow... to a point. If you ever get stuck, just give up. Even with traction control all of the way "off" in my car, it will refuse to rev past 1500 if spinning in the snow, so you can give up any hope of muscling your way out of anything. Really disappointed. I guess it's for safety, but having the engine completely cut power like that is so infuriating. I hit some deep snow and the car didn't want to budge. All it needed was a little gas and some sawing at the wheel to get out, but it wouldn't let me. Modern cars are stupid.
I've never heard of that happening. Would be very frustrating. Can anyone else confirm that is normal in modern cars?

Do you have to hold the button down for like 30 seconds? Cause on most cars, just pushing the TC button doesn't fully defeat the TC, you have to hold it down.

This. Mustang operates exactly like this. Pressing the button just dials back the traction control sensitivity and leaves stability control enabled. Hold it for 5 seconds and it turns everything fully off and (annoyingly) sets the steering assist to its lowest setting.
