Recommend a jump box / inverter / air compressor ?
#21
Does anyone have a recommendation for those little jump boxes? I don't need a compressor and all that. Just want something small, relatively cheap and that has some type of solid track record. That genius gb40 is the best seller on Amazon right now but it's more expensive than others at $100. Just don't know if it has anything to make it worth extra money.

I have a previous version of this Anker box. Everything compact that can turnover a V8 will be about $100

Roav Jump Starter Pro, by Anker, 800A Peak 12V for Gas Engines up to 6.0L or Diesel Engines up to 3.0L, Emergency Portable Charger with Advanced Safety Protection, Built-In LED Flashlight and Compass https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F9PHJ9C/ref...0BbX921BSM

Anker stands behind their stuff, pretty good warranty/support

One cool thing about the noco provided it works is you can unplug the jumper clamps (like you can on the ankr) but they sell a ring terminal adapter that they say you can just start through. That would be super convenient on my truck if it worked as I have non standard battery terminals that don't like to be clamped (clamps slide off super easy. Plus could fish it out somewhere and jumpstart without opening hood.

the li-ion jump boxes go on sale periodically for ~$40. No need for a name brand IMO, they all have the same cells underneath.

Ive used them a few times and have always worked well.

It's a beast. Jumped a lot of cars with it. Even ran my entire car for 150 miles when my alternator died leaving VIR. Battery made it about 2 hours up, the jump box got me 2.25 hours home :0. Literally died 6 miles from home. Got me close enough to have a buddy drive me back home, pick up a spare battery and get home.

I looked a while at this one, and found it odd they really don't like to list the mAh like most others do. It's not on their site either. That's because it's only 6400mAh (as best as I find), while you can get twice that for the same or less $. I DO like that it doesn't have the large dongle on the jumper cables that most others do, but I'm not going to pay twice the price for half the battery. That's how I ended up with the Tacklife T6.

Haha that's awesome. That model GooLoo was pretty high on my list too.

Good question. I've been thinking about getting a jump box for maybe 2 years. I keep putting it off and I never need one so procrastination is paying off? :knocks on wood:

I bought one. Needed it soon after, didn't have it with me. Tried to blow up some balloons with the compressor and it was very slow. -10000/10
