Oh yeah, standard offer applies. Anyone new to MM who is car-less and tall enough to reach the pedals can co-drive the M3.

Speaking of unprepped. What exactly are the rules for a battery tie down? My batter is too big for the standard tie down (which I don't have). How secure do I have to make it?

They don't really check the battery tie down that much. You should be good with some rope or a big rubber band.

If it were me, I test the battery by grabbing the handle or corner and shaking it. If it moves like an inch in any direction, it needs to be tighter.

Stancer answer. Sorry that is wrong.

Seriously, get that shit fixed. They will fail you. Its #1 thing they check because it is easy to check. Get some aluminum angle, drill some holes and run a bolt through.

In my personal experience they've let me slide when my battery wasn't completely secure, but because its in it's own special little tub in the E36 and it ain't goin' anywhere unless you end up upside down. I still got it sorted out though. I believe it just sits on a tray in the miata trunk... you'll definitely need to come up with something to secure it. You got 6 weeks and you should be able to cobble together something with a $5 Home Depot trip like DJ says.

******edit - date change to Oct 18*********

After approving the fourth Ray realized that the North Carolina Autox Nationals will be on that date as well. He and other BRR-SCCA officials would need to be there so we had to move the date. October 10 was our other option but that is a NASA weekend so the 18th it is!! I hope everyone can still make it!

Thanks guys!
