Are you talking about that dive-looking country store that is actually run by like an indian guy or something? I stopped in there one day - that MFer needs to hire someone. He had charcoal and shit all over him from the grill, was running the deli counter, AND the cashier for the rest of the store. He wouldnt let me leave til I tried some of the ribs. I was already stopping in there for a sandwich, but he was still trying to upsell like crazy

I never actually saw the place, but it doesn't sound like someone my dad would buy from  I'll have to ask next time I see him. Dude may not even be in business any more...it was probably someone who set up shop like where the lobster guy parks his van.

Bringing this back to life with a list of the 25 best food trucks in/around Washington DC

Other than that, I haven't been eating at too many other new places. We got a Mission BBQ in Columbia. I've been twice now and it's been consistently good BBQ. I've gotten the brisket (moist), mac and cheese, green beans with bacon, cole slaw, baked beans with brisket, and cornbread. Mac and cheese was meh, but everything has been great. They have about 8 different sauces to choose from as well.

Speaking of Barbecue, has anyone been to the BBQ truck at the Tractor Supply here in Harrisonburg? I never see them have any business but regularly see them there. Smells good.

I haven't, but I've been to the three food trucks at the new food truck court downtown. It's on wolfe st about 100 ft from my house so I'm a frequent customer. Belen's Thrill of the Grill has excellent cheese steaks. Grilled cheese truck has lots of different grilled cheese's that are pretty good. The Wing It truck has some of the better bone-in wings that I've had in a while. Overall, any of the three are great choices.

Oh, and there is a brewery going in the building where the food truck court is before too long. So you'll be able to go in for a beer and take it outside to the food trucks. They're also adding roof-top seating on the taller part of the building. Going to be an awesome set up.

Saturday lunch at the one downtown, then walk up to my house for a beer (or 6) after? I'll have a homemade pumpkin beer on tap in roughly 3.5 weeks.

They are open every day but sunday I think. You kind of have to pay attention since the actual truck court is behind the building where they are putting the brewery. You can see it from the bottom of the hill at the corner of wolfe and 11 though.

That's just the generic food service trailer parked in the corner of tractor supply? If it's the same one I'm thinking of, I don't think there is any name on it. Never stopped to try it.

Bylers BBQ. It's legit, but they're only there on Thursdays.

The dude that owns Gold Crown camps out in the same spot as Bylers on Mon, Tues, Wed, & Fri...his BBQ is OK at best.

Bringing this one back from the dead because I was introduced to what I believe to be, the best burger in the DMV. Quite possibly the best burger on the east coast.

If you know me, you know I love burgers. I will try them anywhere because I believe that is an indicator of a restaurant. If they can nail a burger, the rest of their food is likely pretty good.

I was in DC yesterday hanging out with my freshman year roommate his place in Dupont. We partook in some of DC's latest legal herbal remedies and planned our afternoon. The choice was ramen or as he described it, "the best burger I have ever had". The decision was simple - skipping the soup. We walked a few blocks in the frigid 20 degree weather and arrived at Dukes Grocery. Described as an East London inspired neighborhood pub; it definitely fit the bill when we walked in. A packed bar with about 20 stools, a couple high tops, and an upstairs for more dining. A 20" TV hung in the corner of the bar playing soccer. We promptly asked for this to be changed to the Steelers Jags game.

Okaaay get to the burger. I didn't take a picture because I was too excited and too cramped to move my elbows to get my phone out of my front pocket (stolen from their FB).  The description of the burger:
Quote:proper burger*: creekstone farms angus beef/ melted gouda/ dill pickles/ charred red onion/ thai sweet chili/  rocket/garlic aioli / brioche 13
I added applewood smoked bacon for $3.
You can get it only medium rare or well done. If you order it well done you are no friend of mine. The meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The combination of the cheese, sweet chili, garlic aioli, and whatever rocket sauce is was amazing. So many flavors all melding together and with the pickles and onion it was perfect.
Somebody please go try this and tell me if it is really as good I think or if I am crazy. This ranks as the best burger I have ever eaten. Even over my holy grail of Jack Browns. It was expensive at $16 but well worth it. If anyone wants to go please let me know and I will be there!

You lost me at pickle

I'm always down to try a bougie burger but you would have to be high to pay $16 for a meat patty from a Kansas wholesaler. For that price tag it better be right from Billy Bob's local farm down the skreet and preferably something exotic like bison meat

It was definitely expensive no doubt about it. It was worth it. But to say Creekstone Farms is a run of the mill wholesaler is not doing them justice. Their beef is distributed on the east coast by Pat LaFreida who knows a thing or two about beef. Creekstone also supplies Shake Shack which seems to be doing pretty well with 136 locations worldwide.

Just because it's local doesn't mean anything other than maybe it is fresh that day. You have no idea how Billy Bob raises his cows, what their diet is, what their habitat is like. Local being better is a marketing tactic farmers markets have done extremely well with.

That's probably average cost for a burger in Seattle... but, this city is kinda expensive.

I think that burger looks pretty good.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to.
