Project Midlife Crisis
Sweet parking job bro. The plates are amusing in a high-waisted-jorts dad-joke kind of way, I like 'em.

FWIW I think the lobster claw wheels look good on it - I'd spend money elsewhere until it was tire time, then figure it all out at once.

Honestly from the couple videos I heard it doesn't sound like it's that loud. I want to check it out in person some time though.

Had my first autocross in this car and realized there is so much to learn now that I don’t have a 4,200lb AWD boat pushing me around the corners. Lots of time spent dialing in pressures but once that was sorted out, I had my best run and was able to really focus on my own skills. I still had way more room to go faster and brake harder, but overall I’m happy with my progress throughout the event and excited for more time to practice and hone in my abilities.

My tires were pretty bald in the back but I think still had decent grip so I’m not sure how much they were limiting me lol.

My climate switches arrived in the mail so those will go in eventually, and oh I bought new rims and H&R springs Big Grin

Well it’s been a while and some things have happened that might be worth sharing.

For one I got my new rims in the mail, and oh my god is the ride comfort is 100x better. A combination of bent and out of balance rims made my steering wheel feel like an automatic rifle above 70. I like the way they look a lot, but think the car could use moar low which is why I bought the springs. Springs are for a Boxster Spyder and made by H&R, and from my reading they should fit fine. I would have already installed them but don’t want to pay for a re-alignment after just getting one done so it will wait until I stop being lazy.

I want to get a pair of spacers for the front and back, maybe about 10mm or so, but we’ll see how pronounced the gap is once I lower the car. I plan on lowering it after my first HPDE1 weekend at Summit in June. I’m excited to see how this car performs with half decent tires, and good brakes after flushing with Motul 600 and putting some Pagids on.

I also installed the climate switches and managed not to break any circuit boards in the process. The most time it took for this was running around to stores trying to find a T6 driver, something so small I’m really not sure how it doesn’t instantly strip.

My OCD noticed that my switches lettering js actually somewhat crooked, leaning up on the right side -__- I might try and contact the company but for now I’ll be content with the drastic improvement.

I also finally deep cleaned and conditioned the top so it will now be nice and waterproof. On a side note, this water-proofing stuff has a super distinct smell to it. I can’t put my finger on it but I seems close to the smell of tiki torches, very odd. Also, good times spraying that in a closed garage, good times.

So next up and work on my driving skills on track, nail heel toe, stay in the power band, and hopefully stay on track! My thought is to get a set of 17’s and put some throw away r-comps on, but I really want to sell these crab claws first so they can stop sitting in my garage.

And that’s the way it is folks.

Good to know those climate buttons/rockers can be replaced. I see soooo many 987s with everything peeling off, and it kills the interior to have those looking shabby. Nice work!
