sand in our rivers go to the ocean... then to the bays... then off to the ocean... its the circle of life for the beach! this summer when you are at the beach... that sand thats rubbing your boys at the beach... it helped us poor SOBs in the NE drive around when the white stuff fell from the sky.

again, sand is sediment, but not all sediment is sand. i'm not playing semantics here, i never drew a line between sand and the barriers, but when i said particulates you assumed i meant sand, which was incorrect on your part.

sand = sediment (fact)
sediment = bad (fact, that is why barriers are put in place to stop it)

Reading through this thread has made my afternoon.
I think this has an easy solution, the roads should be not be covered with salt and sand, but pixie dust and glitter instead. It offers better grip and when it gets into the rivers and lakes the fish will all be able to fly and fart glitter!
(its good for driveways too!)
