Lot of fun today, great day for a drive! (Minus the one misstep, he ok?)
I was only able to grab this one photo of the mysterious saki rider.

That's because they shouldn't.......?

any smoke you'd normally want to see is from using lots of fuel i.e. running rich - sooty smoke. should only happen under heavy throttle if at all.
grey dusty smoke = oil = no bueno. turbo seals are shot.

... I don't know what to think anymore. Scott was definitely burning a bit of oil.
At least I don't feel stupid now for not knowing something that isn't true.
stupid question but did it smell oily? rich exhaust smells kinda like gas vs. an old lawnmower.
also, oily smoke will have a bluish tinge.

He was rich/does burn a bit of oil. It shouldn't do that but custom turbo set ups aren't always perfect just ask Sam about his ghost car. His passenger complained of the fumes to me after the cruise.

Definitely blue oil smoke. No way to mistake that. Smelled exactly like 2 stroke
Guys, I just realized I had my phone set to record 480P instead of 1080.... ugh

I had a great time this weekend - props to those of you who made this cruise happen. I counted 24 vehicles in our little convoy. Didn't really push the 128 too hard, but I learned that 1) I don't know its limits and 2) obviously, I shouldn't learn them on a mountain road with no runoff. That said, it does seem to be a pretty nimble, predictable chassis, so maybe I'll give it an autocross or track day just for fun.
I thought the turnout for Friday's dinner and everything we did on Saturday was impressive, and it sounds like y'all are going to be bringing a decent number of folks to VIR, too.
Thanks to Rex/Julie and Chris for giving me places to crash on my little whirlwind tour of the 'burg. Nostalgia and redline is a fun combo
