Most of it is in the taller roof of the SUV, so unless you regularly pack your luggage to the roof, cargo footprint is a lot more important.yeah, i also found that. When i cross shopped a Golf R and a 328i xDrive wagon the cargo capacities are almost identical, however when you actually see the cars back to back it's quite different (the wagon was clearly more in terms of usability). RE: WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - JPolen01 - 09-09-2019 She is also basing this on the fact that the stroller (which she picked and cost 700 fucking dollars) takes up too much space in the hatch area. We keep it in the car 100% of the time because we live in a split level townhouse with stairs to the front door and stairs up and down once inside. Such 1st world problems. RE: WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - Apoc - 09-09-2019 We had a big fancy stroller we used to load/unload into the car. That lasted about six months before we got a "nice" umbrella stroller to keep in the car. RE: WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - Evan - 09-09-2019 700? holy shit, I thought our bob was expensive. yeah we did a cheap umbrella in each car for daily use, and a big bob in the bottom of the coat closet for hikes or significant trips. We weened the kids off of them pretty quick too, you just have to be ok with moving around a bit slower. Well worth it though. I've used it to trailer behind the bike and my wife used it for her runs with the kiddo. Now it sits in the garage mostly unused, but our 'everyday' stroller was either a cheap target umbrella or a bi-folding Graco 3-wheeled one. We haven't really used a stroller since she turn a little after 3. i just carry the kiddo on my shoulders if she doesn't want to walk or if i want to go quicker. I'd be hard-pressed to get a bigger vehicle (more costly vehicle) to accommodate a big/expensive stroller that you'll use for a couple years. how heavy is the stroller? i'd be willing to haul it up the stairs, but usually townhomes like that have a closet or something at the base near the front door. do you not have that? RE: WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - JPolen01 - 09-09-2019 We have 5 stairs up to the front door. Enter into a landing with 5 stairs up to the main living area and 5 stairs down to the basement. That's why the stroller stays in the car. RE: WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - .RJ - 09-09-2019 Hauling shit in/out of a townhouse up/down stairs blows. I'm glad I moved last year. WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-09-2019 Wife wants what she wants, to Honda Pilot. No one call tell your wife with a kid what to do, surprised the guys with wive’s and kids think they are any different .We have a single bob, double side by side bob and 2 in a row stroller. Wife also wants an umbrella... lulz. She is a big runner though and we go “mild” hiking a lot so we have used the hell out of them. Having an SUV that easily fits them, the kids, a bunch of bags and the grocery run is pretty awesome. Sounds like the underlying premise is she wants a second kid an is early planning hahaha. That's the plan. Something to grow into. I think she has a solid point right now finance wise. We will come out on top with the payoff of the CRV if we trade it in the near future. We don't need a new car now so we have time to really research and look around. WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - Sijray21 - 09-09-2019 Based on your criteria I'd seriously consider the Hyundai Sante Fe and Toyota Highlander if going new. Maybe the VW Atlas? The 2019 Atlas still has that fantastic warranty and I've had good experiences with Lindsay and Stohlman. This is why you shouldn't let them work... they don't have their own money to make bad decisions! (That's obviously a joke.) WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - Sully - 09-09-2019 Has the 3.0L Ford diesel engine been on anyone's radar? Just went on their site to see what options new f150s had and noticed it in the builder. Modern era diesels have too much emissions issues, diesel is as expensive as premium or more, and the DEF and fuel filter replacements make a diesel a pretty sizable investment. Whereas the gassers are easy and run on regular. WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - JPolen01 - 09-09-2019 Saw a power stroke f150 on the road the other day and did a double take. Didn't know that was a thing. I'm not what the allure is for a truck like that or the diesel canyon. Gas is cheap. RE: WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - Apoc - 09-09-2019 How else you gonna roll some coal?? When we shopped wagons, the breakeven on diesel was ~50k miles... which is 10 years of ownership for us. Definitely not worth it. WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - Sully - 09-10-2019 Longevity? Do diesels still last longer than gas motors (more miles) or are they about even now Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |
