iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? Next Issue...

My wife is getting me one for my trip out west snowboarding. You guys are my brain-trust when it comes to these things. I like music. I don't like most of these devices because I like very crisp, clear music and I can hear the difference in quality on most of these devices. So what should I get? I will most likely be getting the next iPhone when it comes out (using BlackBerry STorm2 now).... I have about 5 days of music in my current files, I don't need all of that on this device. Is one clearly the best to have due to other features?

Thanks,
Alan

since you are getting an iphone, get a nano.

touch is nice but its an iphone without the phone so would be duplicative

Get the smallest, lightest you can if you're going to be snowboarding with it. And what Evan said, you don't need a touch

smallest and lightest would be a shuffle, but they definitely suffer in the sound quality department. i'd go nano.

They've changed significantly since I bought one, but my nano is pretty awesome. That would be my choice if I were you, as everyone else seems to agree.

Nano. The new ones have a clip so you can clip it to your jacket or whatever, and the SQ is a bit better than the Shuffle to me.

I love my nano. Everyone has stated the other features, plus if you ever want to hear stuff not on your playlist it has an AM/FM radio built in.

OK, Follow-up question. I have the iPod Nano, the earphones keep falling out of my ears, what are some good in-ear type earphones? I like the sound the supplied phones give, but they will not stay in.....

The more expensive Apple In-Ears ($79?) sound really good and stay in well.

I had a set of VModa Vibes that were great. Good customer service when the first pair broke.

Both come with different sizes of "buds" so whatever size ears you have, a set oughta fit.

I ditched the Vibes for the Apple buds because the Apple ones (at the time) were the only higher-ish end buds with play/pause and volume control in-line.

I have a set of Skullcandy earbuds. They hurt my head with how much bass they produce. #oldman

Bought them 2-3 years ago and just replaced them with a second set after my cat chewed through the first. I've never been able to find buds that stay in my ear. That isn't a problem with these.

neckband won't work well for a snowboarding trip (doesn't play nicely with hats).

I use that exact model with skiing, and yeah neckband gets caught in up in the helmet and sometimes presses too much in the ear. For everything else except when you have a helmet on it works awesome though!

Well it is the first set I have any experience with so maybe they are not that good?!? They seemed better than I expected, is that a better description?

works great with a bike helmet Smile

been using the green model for 5+ years. i bought an orange model thinking they'd be an upgrade and they shorted within a weekend. then i went with the UBER adidas model and they turned out to be pieces of shit (ill-fitting and terrible SQ).
