iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? Next Issue... - Ole - 02-12-2012 My wife is getting me one for my trip out west snowboarding. You guys are my brain-trust when it comes to these things. I like music. I don't like most of these devices because I like very crisp, clear music and I can hear the difference in quality on most of these devices. So what should I get? I will most likely be getting the next iPhone when it comes out (using BlackBerry STorm2 now).... I have about 5 days of music in my current files, I don't need all of that on this device. Is one clearly the best to have due to other features? Thanks, Alan Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - Evan - 02-12-2012 since you are getting an iphone, get a nano. touch is nice but its an iphone without the phone so would be duplicative Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - WRXtranceformed - 02-12-2012 Get the smallest, lightest you can if you're going to be snowboarding with it. And what Evan said, you don't need a touch Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - Mike - 02-12-2012 smallest and lightest would be a shuffle, but they definitely suffer in the sound quality department. i'd go nano. Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - NTIman - 02-12-2012 They've changed significantly since I bought one, but my nano is pretty awesome. That would be my choice if I were you, as everyone else seems to agree. Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - Jake - 02-13-2012 Nano. The new ones have a clip so you can clip it to your jacket or whatever, and the SQ is a bit better than the Shuffle to me. Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - D_Eclipse9916 - 02-13-2012 I love my nano. Everyone has stated the other features, plus if you ever want to hear stuff not on your playlist it has an AM/FM radio built in. Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - Ole - 02-13-2012 Thanks everybody! Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - Ole - 02-23-2012 OK, Follow-up question. I have the iPod Nano, the earphones keep falling out of my ears, what are some good in-ear type earphones? I like the sound the supplied phones give, but they will not stay in..... iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - Jake - 02-23-2012 The more expensive Apple In-Ears ($79?) sound really good and stay in well. I had a set of VModa Vibes that were great. Good customer service when the first pair broke. Both come with different sizes of "buds" so whatever size ears you have, a set oughta fit. I ditched the Vibes for the Apple buds because the Apple ones (at the time) were the only higher-ish end buds with play/pause and volume control in-line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - CaptainHenreh - 02-23-2012 skullcandy. Cheap, disposable, adjustable. They hurt my head with how much bass they produce. #oldman Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - Evan - 02-24-2012 skullcandy is awful. much better to get some cheap sennheisers like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826106241 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826106424 or wait for these to go on sale http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826106574 I got a pair a couple weeks ago and they sound really good Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - Mike - 02-24-2012 Evan Wrote:skullcandy is awful. that's always my response... i was ready with it... UNTIL he said he was pleased with the SQ of the stock earbuds. Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - Apoc - 02-24-2012 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001EZTJ34/ Bought them 2-3 years ago and just replaced them with a second set after my cat chewed through the first. I've never been able to find buds that stay in my ear. That isn't a problem with these. Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - Mike - 02-24-2012 neckband won't work well for a snowboarding trip (doesn't play nicely with hats). Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - D_Eclipse9916 - 02-24-2012 Mike Wrote:neckband won't work well for a snowboarding trip (doesn't play nicely with hats). I use that exact model with skiing, and yeah neckband gets caught in up in the helmet and sometimes presses too much in the ear. For everything else except when you have a helmet on it works awesome though! Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - Ole - 02-24-2012 Mike Wrote:Evan Wrote:skullcandy is awful. Well it is the first set I have any experience with so maybe they are not that good?!? They seemed better than I expected, is that a better description? Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - Mike - 02-24-2012 D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:Mike Wrote:neckband won't work well for a snowboarding trip (doesn't play nicely with hats). works great with a bike helmet ![]() been using the green model for 5+ years. i bought an orange model thinking they'd be an upgrade and they shorted within a weekend. then i went with the UBER adidas model and they turned out to be pieces of shit (ill-fitting and terrible SQ). Re: iPod Shuffle, Nano, Touch or Classic?!? - Evan - 02-24-2012 the 2nd link I posted has an ear loop and are on sale for 35 |
