Saw that yesterday too- WOOOOOO! It'll be great to see the classes runnin through that track then compared to the puny 1-mile limerock i'm used to......

I'm betting they are going to have to limit the prototypes to some sort of speed on that back straight....

Great f'in news. Shame the Grand Am event is gone but I'd much rather see Le Mans prototypes than Daytona Prototypes. Hopefully the car count will be healthy when ALMS rolls into town.

Nah I don't think they'll limit the prototypes there, the back straight at VIR isn't a whole lot longer than the back straight at Road Atlanta. Then again, the consequences of losing your brakes at the end of the back straight at VIR are much worse...

I noticed they are running Grand Course - maybe a decision related to the above. Although a chicane would have worked.

Exactly what I was thinking- from what I've heard from some others who have raced there....Grand Course would probably allow the prototypes to reach some pretty insane numbers- can't imagine if they caught some dirty air.

Grand Course actually limits their speed. VIR Full Course is the one with the long back straight, Grand Course breaks it up. This is the weekend after NASA Nationals, id love to go, so if I could catch a ride with someone, cause I wont feel like driving. :lol:

Don't see anything either.

I sent an email requesting info on the RV spots. I'd like to see that worked ASAP to make plans. If it don't happen, I need to start looking for corral tickets.

Checked Cruise America, it would cost us $417 for a 30' RV for 3 days. It sleeps 7. I figure that's pretty reasonable. Even split only 3 or 4 ways it would be a decent price.
