2011 Evo X GSR
#1
So after much delay (been trying to get this done since July) I have finally come into possession of a 2011 Evo X. I was able to sell my Ralliart and actually transfer a lease to my name for the Evo. I have full intentions of buying it out as soon as I can because the buyout value is extremely low.

So on the car itself is a Phantom Black Lancer Evolution GSR. It had roughly 10K on the odometer when I picked it up in Connecticut. As with all GSRs it is a 5 speed manual, no more twin clutch. Car is in pretty good shape as would be expected with only a slight dent on the driver side passenger door and slight curb rash on a rim. For those who remember my question about the wheels fitting, I wound up having to include the stock Ralliart wheels with the Blizzacks as part of the sale and my black rims fit the back of the Evo and not the front. I thankfully just sold those today as well. Anyway, here's a pic of the car after giving it a quick wash, apologies for the shotty Cell phone pic but it's all i got.

So planned modifications so far:

Me - Yeah so i bought this car with all of about 20 minutes under my belt of trying to drive a manual. I had my uncle teach me yesterday and after 2 hours i felt confident enough to drive around town. Thankfully Long Island is fairly flat but i also tackled a hill for about 45 minutes and felt pretty good about it towards the end. So anyway, my first major modification will be me actually driving this car well. I'll continue to just go out to practice and hopefully keep getting better.

Snow Tires - Have to purchase these ASAP, cause otherwise i can't get around when it snows

Side Mount Plate

Remove spolier and place a lip on instead, or possibly trade for a Ralliart spoiler.

No stereo this time around... yet anyway. Fosgate stereo is pretty good but who knows how long that will keep me happy. All my old stereo stuff sold pretty easily thankfully.

So that's it for now, will be sure to get better pics up soon.

Nice man! Beautiful car, I like how you're going to work on "modding" yourself first haha.. you'll get the hang of the third pedal pretty quickly. And it's like a bike, once you learn you never forget!

Bawlin! I support converting to a lip spoiler, helps with the boy racer thing but still looks aggressive as phuck.

I kind of really want an Evo X for a DD, but a white one, and an MR.

He could buy a replica, doesn't have to be Do Luck. Just a point of reference. If he goes the route of the ams lip spoiler, it's going to cost money to get the spoiler holes filled in unless you use ugly plugs.

Do it, I think it looks a little retarded on the white car where the CF covers the spoiler holes, but on your black car the CF will blend way more. Good choice, now throw on some TRM C2s on that bad boy.

That looks ridiculous on a white car. It could go either way on your color :dunno:

I think it'd be pretty subtle and look just fine. Your car is dark grayish-black, you'd notice it but it'd probably blend right in. One thing I'd consider, is if they have smaller little plugs available to just pop in the holes, a body guy would probably charge you ~$40 to color match them. Then you'd just have odd little circles, but it'd probably be as unnoticeable as possible. Hell, you could mail 'em to my dad if you wanted to in one of those $3 padded USPS envelopes.

Does the new 2.0 in these provide enough torque for the weight of these cars? The one complaint I have with my 9 is that it doesn't have much in the way of low end torque and it's a few hundred pounds lighter than the 10's.

My experience with the X (not like anyone asked for my opinion, Ken owns the thing) is that it doesn't really start to make much boost in the lower rpm ranges, and therefore has nothing in the way of torque or power, but sweet jeebus does it make up for it by 3500rpms.

You'll be hard pressed to get any low end torque out of a turbo 4cyl. Solution = Anti-Lag  I think the 4B11 bumped up overall torque by 10 ft lbs. So I would assume, low end torque on the 4B compared to the 4G is negligable. But the turbo spools faster then the one on your 4G.

Ive come to the conclusion that all the DSM/EVo forums are a bunch of flipping clowns. I was surfing dsmtuners the other day and literally couldnt stand it. Then again, I pretty much limit myself to the classifieds and track parts of every forum I go to.
