No, not to replace the Stratus. I am staying with someone in Charlotte, NC while I'm doing my internship. She's looking for a convertible (preferably hard-top) that's reliable and not too sporty, also preferably Front Wheel Drive. I figured you guys could help her out better than I could...

How new? Automatic or manual?
FWD is going to give you choices like a Pontiac G6, Sebring, Eclipse Spyder or PT Cruiser. Out of those choices, the G6 is the only hardtop... Sebring started being offered with H/T very recently so depending on what she wants to spend, that could work.

Automatic. And I'll ask her about the age issue - she's out right now. Thanks Jake!

Possibly the only thread where Jeff could recommend a Sebring convertible...

And you know, it wouldn't be a bad recommendation at all. We had one (of the older ones) in Hawaii and if you don't care about the driving experience, and just want something with no roof, that's reasonably simple and can haul four people in decent comfort, it was great.
I'm convinced that on a nice day, the worst convertible is better than the best hard-topped car.

I'm with you though Jake, if it's nice out and you want to cruise with your girl (or guy, not that there's anything wrong with that!).... well I'd rather have that PT than the WRX too. Jeezus hopefully it wouldn't have those wheels on it though. :vomit:
stick shifts, and safety belts, bucket seats have all got to go...

Why the hate on the AMC? I would totally rock an AWD Convertible.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Sebring would be a perfect choice! A Turbo PT convertible would also be pretty fun. I have a 2010 Sebring touring with wheels and keyless top drop if she is interested in something newish. 5/100 warranty on the powertrain, car has 31,000 miles. There are hard top Sebring convertibles but they are hard to come by.

I was told we would have hovercars by now...I feel wheels should be noted until the technology I was promised is here.
