Hey guys, I'm Steve, and I'm a sophomore at JMU. I drive a flamenco black 1999 Acura 2.3CL. Its a 5spd, mostly stock. The mods I do have include (in order) 5% tints on the back 3 windows (I'm from New Jersey, completely legal there), debadged drunk, painted calipers (red) and grille (gloss black), and a semi-LED swap. The next 3 mods I want include a short ram intake, an Acura MDX wood steering wheel, and 6000k HIDs. I'm completely in love with this car, I get so many complements on it. Its my 4th vehicle, the others included a 94 Toyota Camry, 94 Buick Century wagon and a 98 Toyota Avalon. I'm an active member of Acurazine.com.

heyo! nice CL, i used to have the sorta-cousin to your car, a 2001 accord 2.3 with the 5 speed....actually pretty rare for its equipment level, believe it or not. anyway, i'd highly recommend a cold air intake over a short ram. i have a video of me going over 33W in the accord and it sounded really amazing and had some nice gains. 8)

you can probably also do a TL type-S rear sway bar, that made a large handling difference for me.

a CAI? most of the guys on acurazine get SRIs. i wanna see that vid tho!

who has the red 1st gen solara, i think its dropped with gunmetal rims if i remember? that car was purrdy, my dad has one just like it (except stock).

im sure the HP gains from either intake are negligible. Id go with whichever one sounded the coolest.

Nice, welcome to the club! I'm over on Acurazine too but I don't post much because there are a lot of ricers and people who don't really know what they're talking about over there. I use it more as a maintenance / troubleshooting resource.

sounds sweet dude...i've decided on an ebay SRI with a K&N filter. my birfday is comin up soon, maybe my parents will buy it for me :crossesfindgers:

ugh...the Si in action! nice clip, that sounds pretty good.

the CAI vs SRI debate goes on for a while - either sounds great with CAI being a little deeper, but the SRI providing a slightly better throttle response. I personally like the CAI on hondas.

thanks man. the tint makes the car look so much cleaner, imo. especially the 5%.
