Travel advice - Seattle edition
#1
There have been a few travel topics here on MM in the past so I thought I'd throw this one out there.

Me and the Mrs. are going to Seattle next weekend. Well, technically Redmond, WA. Anyone ever been? We'll probably do a few touristy things and more than likely hit up a few vineyards out there as well. Any suggestions on some stuff that are must-do's while out there? Anything motorsport related? I'd love to hear any suggestions you guys have.

ok, go!

Pike Place Market is something I've heard about numerous times.

+1 on the Market, it's pretty neat. The first Starbucks is right there, too, if that's your kind of thing.

It's a really pretty area in general, so I think you'll enjoy it. If you enjoy outdoors stuff, you know, you'll like, like it.
When it comes to Ryan Jenkins, the story ends with me putting him in the wall.

I loved that area, although I was in Bremerton across the sound from Seattle, it was very pretty out there.

If you have time, and you like cool shit, I was absolutely dumbfounded by Mt. St. Helens National Memorial.

+1 on the Pikes Place market...there are some great seafood restaurants right on the water for some good eats. We took a boat out to Bainbridge Island IIRC which was gorgeous...Puget Sound was a great cruise by ferry. If I were to go back to the area, I'd be very tempted to hop across the border to Vancouver and explore that area, but there is a lot to see in Seattle as well.

Motorsports...Pacific Raceways is right there in Kent I believe if you'd like to go out and spectate (1/4 mile, road course, etc).

Pikes Place and the first Starbucks are kind of cool. My uncle lives in Mercer Island so I got the chance to spend a little bit of time up there. Weather is abysmal except for a fraction of the year though.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Spoke to my brother he mentioned the Experience Music Project, duck tour, snowboarding and skiing, winery (which you already mentioned) and a boat tour to San Juan Islands.
