Travel advice - Seattle edition - Maengelito - 02-19-2009 There have been a few travel topics here on MM in the past so I thought I'd throw this one out there. Me and the Mrs. are going to Seattle next weekend. Well, technically Redmond, WA. Anyone ever been? We'll probably do a few touristy things and more than likely hit up a few vineyards out there as well. Any suggestions on some stuff that are must-do's while out there? Anything motorsport related? I'd love to hear any suggestions you guys have. ok, go! - Mike - 02-19-2009 Pike Place Market is something I've heard about numerous times. - Ginger - 02-19-2009 +1 on the Market, it's pretty neat. The first Starbucks is right there, too, if that's your kind of thing. It's a really pretty area in general, so I think you'll enjoy it. If you enjoy outdoors stuff, you know, you'll like, like it. - CaptainHenreh - 02-19-2009 I loved that area, although I was in Bremerton across the sound from Seattle, it was very pretty out there. If you have time, and you like cool shit, I was absolutely dumbfounded by Mt. St. Helens National Memorial. - Goodspeed - 02-19-2009 +1 on the Pikes Place market...there are some great seafood restaurants right on the water for some good eats. We took a boat out to Bainbridge Island IIRC which was gorgeous...Puget Sound was a great cruise by ferry. If I were to go back to the area, I'd be very tempted to hop across the border to Vancouver and explore that area, but there is a lot to see in Seattle as well. Motorsports...Pacific Raceways is right there in Kent I believe if you'd like to go out and spectate (1/4 mile, road course, etc). - WRXtranceformed - 02-20-2009 Pikes Place and the first Starbucks are kind of cool. My uncle lives in Mercer Island so I got the chance to spend a little bit of time up there. Weather is abysmal except for a fraction of the year though. - Ken - 02-28-2009 My brother lived in the Seattle area for a over a year, could ask him and see what else there is to do and get back to you - Maengelito - 02-28-2009 I'm here now and will be hitting up the Pikes market area on Monday. Today we hit up a ton of wineries, mmmm delicious - Apoc - 02-28-2009 [evan]Wine is for sissies.[/evan] - Maengelito - 02-28-2009 name one thing that evan actually likes... okay, go. - Apoc - 02-28-2009 Maengelito Wrote:name one thing that evan actually likes... -arguing -fluffy bunnies -fox news Sorry, that was three. - Ken - 03-01-2009 Spoke to my brother he mentioned the Experience Music Project, duck tour, snowboarding and skiing, winery (which you already mentioned) and a boat tour to San Juan Islands. |
