For the power weight ratio-
I figured it all out well some of it.
MR2 Turbo 200/2822=0.071
Corvette C6 ÔÇÿ05 & up 400/3179=0.125
Viper RT10 & GTS Coupe 450/3380=0.133
F355, F360, F550 & F456 400/3064=0.130
Griffith 500 340/2337=0.145
911TT ÔÇô (993, 996 & 997 models) 415/3388=0.122
997 S & Club coupe '05 & up 355/3131=0.113
RX7 TT '93 & up 255/2826=0.090
Ford GT - GT 550/3485=0.158
Lotus Exige 190/2014=0.094
Lotus Exige S 220/2077=0.106
Lotus Elise '05 & up 190/1984=0.096
Lotus Esprit V8TT 350/3043=0.115
Z3 M Coupe & M Roadster 315/3131=0.100
all of the cars have a power to weight ratio of 1 except the mr2 which is at 0.071!
if you take any of those cars are fully prep them they will rape a fully prepped mr2.
MAWWWWWWERRRRAAARRR!!!!
MR2s aren't classed well but your car is actually in SM since you have a swapped motor.

I am going to write to the scca

I'll save you the trouble. Pretend you wrote the letter, and got the reply:
Dear 133t Mr2,
Suck it.

Welcome to classifications. The reasoning behind their retardedness is unknown. Especially in DSMs, we are put into classes where we are severely at a disadvantage. Thats why I dont care what I do lol with modifications.
we are just in DS, not to bad as far as classing IMO

Are you talking about SCCA or NASA? Most sanctioning groups arent terribly favorable to turbo cars - its not a "world against the DSM" thing. Boost and ECU's are notoriously easy to modify and hide, and its tough to maintain parity across the field with those factors.

what are teh DSM classed in Street Prepared?
MAWWWWWWERRRRAAARRR!!!!
Also, keep in mind not every car can be competitively classed indefinitely. Some get a great run (like the n/a MR2s, 99 miatas, minis, etc) and some get stuck between classes and bumped up, and the classes are usually shuffled up every few years. There's no way to equalize performance potential between so many different cars and unless you're going for a national trophy the driver, tires and car setup is far more important than the classing. There's more than power:weight to consider for classing too - suspension/chassis layout, gearing, what kind of tires you can stick under it and so on. You can write the SCCA, and I'm sure they'll read it but you'll need to be clear what you're asking for, and why.

Geez RJ, just cause you've been hanging out with SCCA guys doesn't mean to have to swing from their ballsack SCCA VW fo lyfe!

The only reason I have an SCCA card (although its expired...) is for crewing with Kirk. Havent driven @ an SCCA event in 3+ years.

too bad you didnt  ...
You beat my friends white stock gs-t with boost issues and 205 tires on a 2900 lb car. Not me.
PS- my reference to time trials is the unfair of adding 2+ points for awd....alright thats fine...but guess what? since an evo is a 4-door, they get .5 or was it 1 point BACK, putting dsm (and 3kgt vr4 and celica all-tracs) at a disadvantage. 2 Points is a hefty disadvantage in time trials especially when we are already fat-asses BECAUSE of the awd, its almost a double penalty.
When it comes to Ryan Jenkins, the story ends with me putting him in the wall.

Thats how the NASA TT game works... manipulate the points to your best advantage. Or buy an Evo

Except in SCCA autocross where STevos dominate BSP, STU and SM. AWD advantages are the source of much bickering on autocross message boards. In ASP you can run whatever size tire, as much boost, and whatever size fender flare you want. Maybe they expect you to use that rule to make your car competitive. Since you have a swap though it puts you right into SM2, especially since your motor was never available in the US. Mitsubishi Eclipses go into ESP.

I could have made up a better ruleset with my head stuck up my ass. But thats what you get when douchebags like Greg Greenbaum are put in charge.
Just gonna throw this out there...(disclaimer: sorry it's a little OT from the OP but the thread seems to be headed in a diff't direction)
How about "bracket" time trials or indexed
Brackets can be based on a choice or combination of.... hp:weight, tire size (always a good one), etc
With indexing, you pick an index, say lap time 1:20-1:30. Fastest car not under 1:20 avg for say 3 laps wins. Now I know this flies in the face of fastest guy wins but it focuses on consistency. Can you hit your braking zones, turn speed, straight away speeds etc the same every lap? A low time cutoff allows nearly unlimited possibilities of winning combos.
