Well now that the release date is set for May 15th I'm starting to get really excited. Its been a long time since I was significantly motivated to buy a console because of one game but this is definitely it.
I'm particularly stoked about some of the new features like the ability to trademark your custom designed race livery and sell it on the market. Then there's some other wild stuff in there like the option to use three linked screens like the arcade F355 cabinet. Turns out one of the designers was heavily influenced by F355 (which is still my favorite console racer btw) and wanted to include that feature in Forza 2 (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://forzamotorsport.net/news/pitpassreports/pitpass28.htm">http://forzamotorsport.net/news/pitpass ... pass28.htm</a><!-- m -->).
I was thinking the other day about how that some games are so popular that there are money-paying tournaments that pay enough that some people are actual professional gamers. I'm thinking maybe Forza will be the first racing game that will be popular enough that you could make some money at it if you're really good. I was just reading about the tournament system and I can't help but to think there are gonna be some really cool prizes in there.
Here's some info about the tourney system (towards the bottom): <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://forzamotorsport.net/news/pitpassreports/pitpass39.htm">http://forzamotorsport.net/news/pitpass ... pass39.htm</a><!-- m -->
Apparently you can even tune into tournaments in progress and watch the races.

So the demo is decent. I was expecting more, but it's still the best looking racing game out for the 360. I can't freaking wait for next week when the game is released! Tuning cars will complete it for me... I'm not big on just a straight up arcade race like the demo is...
I need to figure out a seat/wheel/pedal combo ASAP. Looks like the Logitech Axial is the only wheel worth owning. I wish it were wireless, but I'd rather have wires than a crap wheel for twice the price (M$ one). Time to find a seat thing!

im not a fan of the wheels, but then again ive only used cheap ass wheels, nothing with direct feedback, and the 360 wheel is like 160 bucks.
Have you tried the Logitech one? Every review I've read said it's the best.
I'm kind of digging on this seat combo: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.amazon.com/Playseats-Evolution-Gaming-Black-Silver/dp/B000K9Q5UK/ref=sr_1_2/104-5820741-1576754?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1179761315&sr=1-2">http://www.amazon.com/Playseats-Evoluti ... 315&sr=1-2</a><!-- m -->
Expensive, but it's a one-time purchase that would surely enhance driving...

Hum, best, me thinks not. Maybe 'best' for under $300.
I think this one has it beat,

Their site sucks so I'm not bothering to find info on it. Does it work with the 360?

Doesn't the 360 use just a standard USB interface?

Yeah. I recharge my controllers while I'm playing through the USB ports on my laptop so I can sit further away from my 360.

I saw the commercial for it, and was very impressed. I don't have a 360, but would probably buy it, if I did.

That doesn't mean the 360 will understand any USB commands that it is receiving. If their site doesn't say the 360 supports it, I'd lean towards it not.

I picked up the Logitech wheel today and plan on returning the one I get from Amazon to CC. Hurray for price matching The wheel is... meh... but they say it's the best so I guess I couldn't have done any differently.
Built a pretty sweet rig that sits at the end of the bed using PVC, a scrap board, and some bolts. it's pretty damn sturdy, it folds, and only cost $20. Fun little project for the day I can take pics and work out a guide to building it if anyone is interested.

You got the new one with the 6 speed shifter? Beyond being compatible with consoles, I think some individual games will/won't work with them, in particular the 6 speed shifter. I will only buy it if it works with xbox and Forza as well as 360 and Forza 2. Do you know if this wheel (in particular the shifter) will work with them? How about PGR?
The G25? I'm fairly certain that isn't too compatible with the XBOX or 360... I see owners of that going to the one I got... the DriveFX Axial or something.

BJ is happy with it...
Only change I'd make is to not make the board parallel with the ground... so the steering wheel is more perpendicular.

Ha ha, nice setup. Only change I would make is to get your XBOX out of that little cubbyhole. It's going to bake in there. They already have problems overheating as is. I had my XBOX laying sideways and lifted up on Legos so there was 360 degrees of airspace all around it... until I lost the Legos.

Meh, I don't have a better place for it... Lifting it up couldn't hurt.
What car to start with? <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.msxbox-world.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7344">http://www.msxbox-world.com/forums/inde ... topic=7344</a><!-- m -->
Fairly certain Asia will be my home... I'm stuck between the Civic, RSX-S, IS300, and RX7. The RX7 would be fastest out of the box, but the other three will have better longevity with engine swaps and such.

Start with the S14 240 like I did in Forza. RWD, endless upgradeability to the RB26 etc if you care about motor swaps. Plus stock for stock it hangs right with the RX7.
gotta go with the 95 GSX
