I just hope he is half as good at the other 95% of the game as he is as at the other 5%. With the exception of the between the legs/spin shot everything was pretty easy - granted executed very well.

On another note, is anybody paying attention to the caps this season? They've been pretty inconsistent, but they're right in the hunt for one of the last few playoff spots, and considering their roster, thats a pretty big accomplishment. If they make it in Im going to have to bid on some playoff tickets.

I'm with keith, the caps are waaaay beyond my expectations this season. Everyone predicted them to finish in last place, three cheers for a young and hungry team.
I know thats just encouraging the classic MM off topicness, but I love my caps.

Yeah I'm really excited about it. I just hope they can keep it up, and hopefully become *a little* more consistent. You just cant keep reeling off 6 game losing streaks infront of 5 game winning streaks all season. Either way though, who would have thought it.
Unfortunately the two games I've gotten to go to this season they lost by a combined score of 11-2 :wink:

the caps are awesome except for the fact that they're a boatload for an average goalie and their defense is incredibly crappy. but ovechkin is amazing as well as his supporting cast. hopefully they can shore up their D which should help with a playoff run

I was listening to an interview this morning on Elliot in the Morning with Ben Olsen and they were saying that the average MLS player makes something ludicrous like $24,000 a year average... and yes, that's even the best players.

Right, so compare the $50,000 they told you they make (the best goalie in the league was paid about $24,000 last year BTW) to $50 million. How do you think that would make you feel if you were a member of that team? I'd be royally pissed! Beckham is not that good. Did you watch him in the last world cup? He choked and sat on the sidelines crying like a bitch. He has an arsenal of very specific weapons (set plays, corner kicks) and overall he's a rounded player, but not top of the game according to anyone's standards.
