For you hockey fans... - damnit458 - 01-11-2007 This kid makes some sick moves in a shootout http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=4146 hock: - REED - 01-11-2007 I just hope he is half as good at the other 95% of the game as he is as at the other 5%. With the exception of the between the legs/spin shot everything was pretty easy - granted executed very well. - damnit458 - 01-12-2007 REED Wrote:I just hope he is half as good at the other 95% of the game as he is as at the other 5%. Actually, I take that back. I was doing that at 13. Except I was holding a controller in my hands and sitting in front of a tv  On another note, is anybody paying attention to the caps this season? They've been pretty inconsistent, but they're right in the hunt for one of the last few playoff spots, and considering their roster, thats a pretty big accomplishment. If they make it in Im going to have to bid on some playoff tickets. - ScottyB - 01-12-2007 that goalie must feel abused. actually he did pretty good at stopping the first few but still - Hunter - 01-12-2007 I'm with keith, the caps are waaaay beyond my expectations this season. Everyone predicted them to finish in last place, three cheers for a young and hungry team. I know thats just encouraging the classic MM off topicness, but I love my caps. - damnit458 - 01-12-2007 Hunter Wrote:I'm with keith, the caps are waaaay beyond my expectations this season. I just hope they can keep it up, and hopefully become *a little* more consistent. You just cant keep reeling off 6 game losing streaks infront of 5 game winning streaks all season. Either way though, who would have thought it. Unfortunately the two games I've gotten to go to this season they lost by a combined score of 11-2  - CaptainHenreh - 01-12-2007 Hockey. That's like curling with fights, right? - Maengelito - 01-12-2007 the caps are awesome except for the fact that they're a boatload for an average goalie and their defense is incredibly crappy. but ovechkin is amazing as well as his supporting cast. hopefully they can shore up their D which should help with a playoff run - WRXtranceformed - 01-12-2007 They need to hire another ringer from overseas like David Beckham. - .RJ - 01-12-2007 WRXtranceformed Wrote:They need to hire another ringer from overseas like David Beckham. Dude, Beckham plays soccer.... - damnit458 - 01-12-2007 .RJ Wrote:WRXtranceformed Wrote:They need to hire another ringer from overseas like David Beckham. The way the caps D has been playing this year I'm pretty sure he would be an upgrade. - .RJ - 01-12-2007 The only game I went to this year they put a hurtin' in the Flyers - damnit458 - 01-12-2007 .RJ Wrote:The only game I went to this year they put a hurtin' in the Flyers Everybody has put a hurting on the flyers this year  - WRXtranceformed - 01-12-2007 .RJ Wrote:WRXtranceformed Wrote:They need to hire another ringer from overseas like David Beckham. NO FUCKING WAI I HAD NO IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  - ScottyB - 01-12-2007 damnit458 Wrote:Everybody has put a hurting on the flyers this year  they're hurting me, in my heart - REED - 01-12-2007 WRXtranceformed Wrote:They need to hire another ringer from overseas like David Beckham. yeah - just not for 50 mill a year i didnt even think MLS as a league pulled in that much - nevermind one team I hope this gives soccer a much needed boost in the USA - WRXtranceformed - 01-12-2007 REED Wrote:WRXtranceformed Wrote:They need to hire another ringer from overseas like David Beckham. They probably don't heh. Anne Blahblah or whatever her name is who owns the Galaxy supposedly is funding Beckham completely out of pocket. Must be nice to throw away $50,000,000 for 5 years straight and not care one bit. I was listening to an interview this morning on Elliot in the Morning with Ben Olsen and they were saying that the average MLS player makes something ludicrous like $24,000 a year average... and yes, that's even the best players. /threadjack off! - Feersty - 01-12-2007 WRXtranceformed Wrote:REED Wrote:WRXtranceformed Wrote:They need to hire another ringer from overseas like David Beckham. I like the other team that plays at the Verizon Center. What you know about Agent Zero? Two of my boyhood friends play for DC United. They make about $50,000 or so. The Carroll brothers. - WRXtranceformed - 01-12-2007 Right, so compare the $50,000 they told you they make (the best goalie in the league was paid about $24,000 last year BTW) to $50 million. How do you think that would make you feel if you were a member of that team? I'd be royally pissed! Beckham is not that good. Did you watch him in the last world cup? He choked and sat on the sidelines crying like a bitch. He has an arsenal of very specific weapons (set plays, corner kicks) and overall he's a rounded player, but not top of the game according to anyone's standards. - Maengelito - 01-12-2007 god damnit, this is a hockey thread. since when do MM threads get off topic? oh wait... |
