You are not going to get what you put into it. If you are okay with that I say get the EVO MR. I am interested, however, to see how it would look with a stock body and new rims though.

no matter how much i want an MR, its outta my price range, im looking at used 03-05 GSR EVOs. Just tryin to convince myself that the evo is worth the money and that i wont regret selling my car.

When I think EVO, I think awesome car with the following downsides:
Cost of Insurance for a college age male. Big ass gas bill If you're okay with the two above, an EVO would be sweet.

REliability is very good on EVOs. Only problems that ive read about are with the Tranfer Cases in the 03-04s. Most of these have been taken care off because most happened under warranty. ive test drove both an 03 EVO and a 06 MR, my god, if i or any of you can afford any model 06 EVO get one immediately. Turbo Lag is non existent with the MIVEC. SO LOOKS LIKE EVO IT IS....unless i can be swayed otherwise

Pull the trigger. EVO or STi.

Hahahah Sti is laughable compared to the EVO in track performance. Get the Evo.

I too have read that the EVO is a better track performer, but from my personal driving experience of both cars (albeit as brief as a test drive and some ride alongs) I believe I would enjoy the STI more as a daily driver/autox car. Don't get me wront, the EVO is badass and I'd take one anyday, but I was more drawn to the STI. But we all understand if you have to stick to the DSMhood.

I remember when the Evo came out in '03, I think the only fault anyone could find with the car is that the gas tank is rather small, but thats it. I know you won't regret it!

Don't EVO's also have small ass clutches? I've talked to a few guys who've had to swap clutches at 10-15k. Granted, I'm sure there was a good bit of jackassery involved.

I guess the obvious questions - what can you get for your car now, and what does a used evo go for?
