Scoop?
#1
Thinking about installing the euro hood scoop on my supra. It is functional in that it is designed to direct airflow toward the area between cyl 3 and 4, which are the hottest on the engine. Plus it looks pretty good. I haven't installed it yet,b/c I can't determine if I like it totally or not. Just wanted to see what you guys think...

dont like scoops, but I may have to at some point if I continue racing my bitch. I say do it if you really need it, but arent you keeping it mostly stock? I wouldnt think the stock engine would have any problems with overheating.

the car is stock for now. The next real power mod will be to drop in a 1JZ-GTE, at which point the hood scoop will become more pertinent.

Oof I dunno. Your car is too sexy as it is, adding a scoop might borderline on the ghetto.

nice photochop skilz! And for what it's worth, I'd go for it, but I think that one's too small

Photoshop?

He set the scoop down on the hood, took a picture, then took it off, took a picture.

Which is *precicely* what I would have done. Photoshop. Pssh.

I really like it better the way it is now.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

I vote no, you don't want a wing b/c you like the smooth look, I say go w/o the scoop. If you have to have ventalation of the engine via the hood, go with something resessed.

it's your car, but i don't really like the look. If you think the functionality is really worth it then go for it. Does it really get that hot?

Getting the scoop in wont reduce underhood temps - you'll need some sort of heat extractor vents toward the rear of the hood and possibly some ducting work through/under the front bumper.

It upsets the lines of the car a bit, but for the function of the scoop I don't think its enough to avoid putting it on. It adds a little more aggressive aspect to the car.
I'd say go for it.
