Scoop? - Dave - 03-02-2006 Thinking about installing the euro hood scoop on my supra. It is functional in that it is designed to direct airflow toward the area between cyl 3 and 4, which are the hottest on the engine. Plus it looks pretty good. I haven't installed it yet,b/c I can't determine if I like it totally or not. Just wanted to see what you guys think... ![]() ![]() ![]()
- CaptainHenreh - 03-02-2006 YES YES YES HOLY CRAP YES! <3 teh Euro Scoop. - Mike - 03-02-2006 functional or not, i dont like it and wouldn't do it, but it is your car
- ScottyB - 03-02-2006 i think it looks kinda like an afterthought, but honestly your car is still so hot it wouldn't really do any harm - D_Eclipse9916 - 03-02-2006 dont like scoops, but I may have to at some point if I continue racing my bitch. I say do it if you really need it, but arent you keeping it mostly stock? I wouldnt think the stock engine would have any problems with overheating. - Ryan T - 03-02-2006 I like it, DO IT! - Dave - 03-02-2006 the car is stock for now. The next real power mod will be to drop in a 1JZ-GTE, at which point the hood scoop will become more pertinent. - WRXtranceformed - 03-02-2006 Oof I dunno. Your car is too sexy as it is, adding a scoop might borderline on the ghetto. - BLINGMW - 03-02-2006 nice photochop skilz! And for what it's worth, I'd go for it, but I think that one's too small  - CaptainHenreh - 03-02-2006 BLINGMW Wrote:nice photochop skilz! Which is *precicely* what I would have done. Photoshop. Pssh. - JohnC - 03-02-2006 I don't like it. - Andy - 03-03-2006 JohnC Wrote:I don't like it. Don't you have a whole collection of ratboxes to hack up? Leave that beautiful thing alone - ViPER1313 - 03-03-2006 I really like it better the way it is now. - PDenbigh - 03-03-2006 I vote no, you don't want a wing b/c you like the smooth look, I say go w/o the scoop. If you have to have ventalation of the engine via the hood, go with something resessed. - white_2kgt - 03-03-2006 put it on the roof - REED - 03-03-2006 PDenbigh Wrote:I vote no, you don't want a wing b/c you like the smooth look, I say go w/o the scoop. If you think the functionality is really worth it then go for it. Does it really get that hot? - .RJ - 03-03-2006 Getting the scoop in wont reduce underhood temps - you'll need some sort of heat extractor vents toward the rear of the hood and possibly some ducting work through/under the front bumper. - Nis01 - 03-03-2006 It upsets the lines of the car a bit, but for the function of the scoop I don't think its enough to avoid putting it on. It adds a little more aggressive aspect to the car. I'd say go for it. - Maengelito - 03-03-2006 white_2kgt Wrote:put it on the roof agreed... besides, hood scoops are for sissy cars hock:
