$10k? Its not from hell, its from fantasy land.
10K is way too much...that is the Chrysler enthusiast price. If I had that money....I would buy a GLH Omni with a TII swap done and put the other $9000 in the bank. You Evan have no care for a particular type of car so nothing would be "historically valuable" to you. Evan as far as I can tell has no company he calls "his." This is the kinda car people buy just to say they own it, for history's sake. Sorta like the 200mph Salt Flats Lebaron currently on long term loan to the Walter P. Chrysler museum by a private owner.
EDIT- A GLH with a proper TII swap with the right mods can make 300hp for $1500 including the price of the car. As stated above the value of this one is not in the metal and rubber.

My automatic response to this was with name-calling (to feersty). But there is no call for that. I was not calling Evan out. I was making a point about the value and chose Evan as an example. I did this because he owns many cars for their value and seems to have no Brand pride for one over the other. I'm not saying there is a damn thing wrong with that. Stop trying to turn threads into fights. You seem to look for the worst in everything. You say things that don't need to be said, and make things look bad avoiding any possible good way to look at something (trailer thread). Yes feersty...I am calling YOU out.

I didnt interpret that as "calling me out"
a car is worth whatever someone will pay for it, if there is an enthusiast who wants that car enough to pay $10k for it, thats fantastic. This is the philosophy that the Barret Jackson auctions have been thriving off of for however many decades they have been around.
You are right Jeff, I dont have enough brand loyalty to pay more than the worth of the metal and parts. Personally I get my joy from automobiles from driving them, not owning or looking at them. They are a tool to me, "equipment" for the activity of driving/racing. Which is similar to the distinction why we are a motorsports club, not a car club. Motorsports is the activity, the car is the tool.
This is the same reason why I will never understand (and forever mock) stupid high hp street car dyno queens.

OOOOOOOOOOO!
i, too, understand the desire of paying way too much for a car based on brand loyalty and accept the fact that at some point in my life, i will turn retarded and buy a money pit car based on that loyalty. yay!

I love those cars
I'll never understand the mentality of calling a car a "dyno queen". Most cars I've ever heard of that put down near (or more than) 4 digits are driven hard and often. I love the idea of a car you can drive with the music playing and the AC blowing to the track, run fast times, and drive home. If it makes power, but for a functional reason, is it still a dyno queen? More often than not that reason is being able to experience that kind of power just because youre able to. If you break it down, its about setting records to be the quickest/fastest car with this transmission and full interior and stock suspension or what have you. Take the 1600hp RSI Twin Turbo Viper for instance...set the record for stock IRS Vipers on the quarter, and its driven on the street, full interior, stereo, pump gas and all...is it a dyno queen? And yet, when they set such a record, they are still called dyno queens even though they were built to achieve what was yet to be done. I can understand making fun of 100k dollar cars that are never driven, but its kind of childish to hate a car simply because it makes power
^^^^Not to mention that even though it lays down 4 digits on the dyno doesnt mean he DDs the car at full boost on race gas everyday, which is usually how cars laydown those numbers. Im sure if he has enough money to lay down 4 digits he has enough money for an EBC to turn the boost down. Oh and back to the thread, way to much money, but mad respect to a hatch with a turbo layin down 300hp. Thats like 2.33333 miatas in one car  Oh and does it come with a busted hooters girl????
