Hey man. Do you remember the name of the muffler shop he told you? I live in lynchburg and can help you out if need be.
The best shop in Madison Heights I can think of off hand is the Dodge Dealership actually...they do really good custom exhaust work.
As far as in Lynchburg...Wayne's muffler shop is probably one of the better ones.

I have a bunch of crap, and I need someone to fab the tubing, and put it all on the car. I want to run collectors back from my headers, 2.5" pipe into a crosspipe behind the transmission, reduce that to 2.25" into my mufflers, over the rear axle, straight out the back in the stock location with some 24" stainless or chrome tips. The guy I talked to..i dont think he gave me the name of the shop, but he said he had the guy do some fab work, and it was really good and on the cheap too

Yeah...gotta be long enough to run from under the bumper to behind the rear wheels...otherwise it looks gay, because you can see them from the side of the car, and it'd be some crappy aluminized pipe, then like 10" of bling

i was just being a douche... questioning the 24" thing. in the honda world we measure exhausts by the size of the outlet. 24" is just silly.

If you talked to him at the meeting it was probably Hunter with the e39 5 series. He has a custom exhaust on his car an older guy bent up for him. I'll ask him about it.

oh..and tips are usually 3" round, or if I just get stainless pipe it'll be 2.5"..angle cut of course
