Wiper Blades
#1
It's time for new blades for my car. What is everyone using? I always seem to get something different because I can never remember what I bought the time before. The set I have now have been chattering like a motherfucker for quite some time, even when they still had lots of rubber left. I am OCD about noise like that so the quieter the better.

the Bosch Icon blades (plastic airfoil frame, not metal) or something with the same shape. they don't chatter and stay planted better except at the far edges due to the airfoil profile.

I had the Michelin hybrid on my truck. It just sits and they rotted away in like 2 to 3 years. Not sure what the life of blades should be. I don't understand hybrid. They look like traditional with a plastic cover. I think I have Bosch icon on the s2k. Think they're fine. I'm limited in brands at Walmart. I usually do the most expensive (Bosch) because they don't get replaced that often and it's only like $35 a set for the Bosch

You're supposed to replace wiper blades every 6 months... Or something like that. I think I use rain x latitudes. Never been a fan of Bosch wipers

Oh. I replace them every two years or so... But at the rate I drive my cars...

I hated my rain x wipers that I got for my truck years ago. So much so that I replaced them when they were still good cause they sucked. Maybe that was their cheapest line though. I can't remember. I had some in my hand today but they didn't have two in the size I needed and didn't feel like springing for the Bosch ones today. Somedays I'm cheap, somedays I'm impulsive.

Consider getting silicone blades, ex PIAA 95055 Super Silicone Wiper Blade - 22" 550mm (Pack of 1) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002Z9QWQ/re ... AzbKT78Z6K - they last way longer than any rubber blade.

Rockauto also has crazy closeouts on blades a lot of the time, and it makes sense to buy them in bulk. For example, I can get a single Trico NeoForm beam style blade for $2.11 +$ 5.99 shipping right now, or 4 blades for 8.44 +8.99 shipping. Same blade on Amazon is $14.50.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

I think the ones I put on my fiance's car were silcone coated or silcone cause I definitely did a set of wipers recently where I had to "transfer" the coating to the windshield. But I feel like they were rain x

How do you tell which ones are silcone on rockauto though? Or are you offsetting how cheap they are and not caring how long they last

Blades that are silicone are labeled as such. Rockauto is for cost offset on premium brand blades, not necessarily silicone ones.

I am definitely going to buy on Rockauto. I will check out what premium stuff they have and likely give the Rain-X a shot. Everyone loves them it seems. I think I am going to try the Rain-X spray on windshield stuff as well.
