Thanks to Scott for finding a decent 1990 Miata, fixing it up a bit and selling it to me. As promised it was repainted and looks good from 10 ft. The ridiculous custom exhaust thanks to the previous previous owner is clearly necessary due to the megasquirted 1.8 swap with ITBs that makes 200 HP at 8K RPM. Ok really it's a tired 187K mile 1.6 with hot air intake but runs and drives great. I actually fit in the thing too, it's really fun, and of course the kids (well ok one at a time) love it.



Plans:
Rollbar because it seems about as safe as a motorcycle right now
Maybe a stock intake (anyone have one?) or something more clever than what's there
AC, PS, PW are on the delete list if/when they give me trouble
Tires on another set of wheels and run some STS

you can cut 1/2 that cost by just borrowing one Kaan's 24324 kswaps. He'll get around to swapping it in for 10 years so I think you'll be fine borrowing it.

true story: if your car has all its doors attached, is being driven by a live animal resembling a human, and isn't covered in blood or on fire, you pretty much can't get pulled over in Atlanta.

It was both. I did get pulled over in that car once for a tag light out and he let me go, I assume after he saw the interior. And when I say "that car" I don't even know which it was, cause I had two silver 318s that weren't registered and shared that plate. :dunno:

I really wanted to do antique tags this time but my lawyer advised the Roa city cops are hip to pulling over the wannabe gang members that do that on their DD hoopties. I'm not sure I'm hard enough for that class 4 misdemeanor.

Atlanta best thing I dodged was a driveshaft, because... well how much further could the vehicle possibly have gone? :evileye:

You'd actually be surprised at some of the shit in Roanoke. You drive through certain neighborhoods at 10 AM on a Tuesday and you'd think it was a block party. So many people with no jobs to go to, nothing to do but hang around on the corner, at least that was the case back in 2008-09.
