I had heard vaguely about this car coming to the NY Auto Show but I didn't see it and out of sight, out of mind. Apparently the "car" showed up later. The model looks like a design student slapped it together and didn't have time to get the cottage cheese smoothed out. And get this, the car will have ONE wire through it. And it will have 21 vents, 19 of them under the car. It will also have a billet engine and go into production in 9 months.

Just about as bad as thing but at least the Lyons guy aimed for a modest 1900 hp : <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://mmsports.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11004&p=236455&hilit=devel#p236455">viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11004&p=236455&hilit=devel#p236455</a><!-- l -->

Yeesh.
If I was fantastically wealthy, I'd probably make it my hobby to fund vaporware supercar companies so that they actually build cars, just for a laugh.
two things impress me about this,
1. the fact that somehow this guy has raised at least enough money to build bring a shell to an auto show. (albeit one that looks like a votec summer class project)
2. the jalopnik reporter's ability to keep a straight face.
It gets better: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=124&v=jtufdCOIwto">https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=124&v=jtufdCOIwto</a><!-- m -->

Figured the 3D printed Blade might belong here instead of the automotive news discussion thread. Something about this makes me think they haven't sourced let alone tested any of this at all:
"capable of going from 0-60 MPH in a mere 2.2 seconds. It weighs just 1,400 pounds, and is powered by a 4-cylinder 700-horsepower bi-fuel internal combustion engine that is capable of using either gasoline or compressed natural gas as fuel"
So that's the weight, with twice the power, of the Nissan Deltawing. A racecar purpose built by huge money, talent, experience, and carbon fiber. I'm rooting for you Divergent Microfactories! I hope you have a few F1 engineers on your team. God speed.

I am a proud supporter of LGBT engines. Yes but what does this car IDENTIFY as is what is important here.
What if it feels like it was born a bus? Or perhaps it had dreams of being a large agricultural tractor, plowing through the golden fields of the midwest? Should we be holding it back by calling it a plastic built stupercar abomination?

Everyone knows 3D printed cars, unlike regular cars, do not have souls and therefore cannot dream. However, given that this car probably has similar non-suspension like a tractor, who am I to tell it what it can and cannot be?

I sexually identify as a super car that will never be produced and this thread is triggering me.
you need to check your ableist supercar privelege, shitlord. just because some supercars are fully engineered working prototypes that operate in reality doesn't mean you can devalue inoperative concept mockups that have bullshit specs and will never move faster than someone can push them.
