MM Spring Car Show 2015 - Planning Thread

Waiting for info on this. DJ had a great idea - why don't you guys combine the car show with an auto-X that same weekend. Show on Saturday Auto-X on Sunday?

Another idea I had was to maybe incorporate a cruise to 33 West possibly after the car show or the Sunday after (if on a Saturday).

Ray Schumin Not yet. I can be the contact. BRR will be in Verona on March 21-22 and April 12.

There we go, dates for BRR-SCCA in Spring Semester at Verona. Seeing as 21/22nd is a double header AND NASA VIR is that weekend, are there any concerns about April 11/12th?

April 11th - No "final" exams near (I checked JMU academic calendar), spring break is a month before, graduation is a month later, can work with BRR-SCCA to improve attendance at our event in return for making sure a bunch of us show up to the autox sunday.

Can you work with the school to see if this April 11th date works for getting a lot? Do we have contact information for who we must work with?

Ooo, Jake's doc reminded me. I know last year's show was very awesome, but if we can snag the C4 lot again that would be amazing. Easy entrance/exit, trees & shade, no hills/nice and flat. LOVED that lot back in the day.

Also, this guy is the guy to contact for the articulation ramp, which was loads of fun for us Offroad people. He has a cool plot of land he lets people wheel on up north.

I'm sure RYAN SODIKOFF at Steven Toyota would be willing to throw some cool stuff in again. We didn't do another Tacoma meet at Steven this year so I'm sure he's itching for something.

I talked to their treasurer, Randy Moss, who I met a couple of years ago, last year and he said some of the guys wanted to come but they had an event planned that day already.

Also, Toytec, Demello offroad, ECGS, and a few other places would be down to donate swag again.

Time is a factor on all of these.

Edit: And, I can get some free meals from Cracker Barrel as prices too. Just let me know.

C4 would be awesome (lol right outside my dorm). Anyway, I was going to try to get in contact with my buddy from YouTube that does videos, maybe you guys know him? His name is David Patterson, and on YouTube is ThatDudeInBlue. He shoots Tech's car show and does many car reviews. He runs the local Sunday car meet down in the RVA, so I've gotten to know him pretty well. I know a couple other people in the club know him personally too, so we should reach out to him as soon as we have a date in stone. This could help promote the event even more and could be used in future years to promote the car show. I'll be sure to keep y'all updated as to what he says when I let him know. :thumbup:
