Ok, to continue the story;
at this point I wasn't sure what i was going to do power wise, but I got a good deal on some doug thorley 1 7/8" long tube headers which were nice, and sounded great but without a tune I had a cel so I was actually not making much more power than with just the cat back, with the cel on I managed to just cut into the 12's in the 1/4 mile.
Also some time around this point is when I went with technostalgia full led afterburner tail light, a real clean stock led look.
Ok, about here is when I started seriously looking at power adders, and decided on the turbonetics t76 turbo kit and jba cat res/cat delete pipe, I was unbelievably excited when I got this and didn't have time to put it in since I had school and my car wasn't here because it was my freshman year. Per recommendation from a trusted friend I was directed to a guy in Maryland who said he could do the install at a pretty reasonable price… biggest mistake ever, long story short after 3 and a half months of him making excuses I had a tow truck go get my car, which was in pieces, I even had to threaten to call the cops to get him to release my car, after the scratches he put in my car and taking $1k from me I got my non functioning car back. When I got it back I went ahead and took off everything he tried to install and made sure it worked, and it did. After a month or so of driving it normally I went ahead and started the install myself with a knowledgable buddy, it proved not to be bolt on because, lets be honest no turbo kits are.
After all this waiting to install the turbo, I went to load up the box tune so I could get it to my tuner for a dyno tune, but what do you know they forgot to load it onto the tuner, after another couple of days working with customer service I got it and was able to get to my tuner. Got to the tuner and found out I was an idiot and gapped the plugs wrong but was already late to a wedding so I had to reschedule. Take two, on the next break I got to there and some how my car was dyno'ing in the 300's whp, after getting ready to pull the entire front off again to look for a boost leak I saw that there was a big ass break in the intake tube, fixed that a bam, best pull was 556rwhp @ around 6 lbs of boost. Had to unlock the torque converter though because it was slipping so that backed it down to 526rwhp.
Not too long after I had to upgrade my fuel pump and for my goals at the time the ZL1 fuel pump was fine, little bit of a pain because I had to pull out everything under the car to pull the fuel tank but I got it done.
Up next was some hotchkis front and rear sway bars which made a massive difference with the lowering springs.
Now I'm just loosing focus so I'm going to speed this up, there were some week parts of the kit, but the big parts were solid(turbo, intercooler, wastegates), changed plugs, air filter, etc, then changed to a bigger filter again.
Up next and I don't remember which order but I got a seibon carbon fiber trunk and hood too loose some weight and vent the heat. Also, I had heat soak issues with my starter so I had to heat sleeve a new starter and that fixed the problem with it barely starting.
What else?? ummmmmm, eagle f1 supercar 305/35/20, they sucked so I went with 275 nitto invos on the front and when the f1's are done invos are going on the back. After getting my ass handed to me by a car with half the power at east side dragway because I was spinning so much I got a set of 18x10.5 of my tsw interlagos and wrapped them in some 305 nitto nt05r's and wow they're awesome. Those who have seen my car lately know that I dipped my stock wheels lime green for my winter setup so theres that. Oh yea, I put some ceramic pads and slotted/drilled rotors on it at some point. Here she is as she sits today for the most part.
Winter Setup
Hopefully over spring break I will be installing these, loose around 90 lbs between the driver and passenger seat, and maybe the harness bar w 4 point harnesses down the line a little. If I forgot anything Ill try to remember to post it.
Oh yea, 1000hp DSS half shafts, and a soon to be installed HAVOC diffuser.
