Democrats take the House, looks more and more like they will take the Senate AND Donald Rumsfeld steps down - best day of my life  .
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

I think I haven't personally attacked you but if you want to get into who's parroting what, earlier in this thread, you did actually use the words "san fran liberal." Who's the parrot? Like I said though, I don't support the Dems but you've been trying really hard to pigeonhold me so you can parrot the attacks from FoxNews.

I assume it came from headlines as well unless you moonlight as an economist. Where are your sources and are they provable? We both work under the assumption that our news sources are telling us the truth.

From CNN Money
Quote:But, despite the lower unemployment rate, workers' average wages rose just 2 cents, or 0.1 percent, to $16.79 an hour, less than the 0.3 percent rise forecast by economists and well below the revised 0.5 percent increase seen in July From the Economic Policy Institute: Quote:For low- and middle-wage workers, as well as those with a high school degree, real wages fell last year by 1%-2%. Those at the top of the wage scale experienced marginal gains, and real wages were essentially unchanged for college graduates. Quote:Job gains in the payroll sector came from the service sector, including 43,000 jobs in professional and business services, of which 15,000 were temp workers. An increase in temp hiring can signal employers are expecting a slowdown, but it is too soon to tell whether this is behind last month's increase. Local government added 30,000 jobs in the education sector, and health care continued its relentless expansion, up 23,000 last month. Jobs in health care represent 11% of private employment, yet they have accounted for 33% of job growth during this recovery.

Like I said earlier in the thread, the economy is rising but to say its strong and then attribute it to Pres Bush is dishonest.
I don't give Pres Clinton the credit for the 90's like I don't credit pres Bush for the 00. Evan, You attacked me personally by saying that I'm parroting the Vast left Wing conspiracy yet you parroted "San Fran Liberal." Am I mistaken?

Andy Wrote:Like I said earlier in the thread, the economy is rising but to say its strong and then attribute it to Pres Bush is dishonest. Andy, Im not giving Bush credit for the economy and I havent done that, if you look at my original post it was an argument to the popular claim that the economy is not in great shape right now and had nothing to do with politics in fact. There are clear signs that the economy is in fact in good shape. Pelosi is from San Francisco and she is a (deep end) liberal. Not sure where you claim putting 2+2 together is "parroting" and for the record, no I did not vote. I did not get my voter card through a mix up in my recent move, and did not have the time to drive around to several polling places near my new and old house to see what lists Im on. Believe me I wanted too. If for some reason that all of the sudden makes me un-informed, Id be happy to cease this discussion.

Pelosi wouldn't have become the minority leader if she was that liberal. For the district she's representing, she's sort of moderate. San Fran did vote to impeach Bush. But I'm not her defender. All of the R's have been using "San Fran liberal" to slander her without defining what that word means. It's a catch all that means anything to anyone. It's a nonsense scare tactic. All I am saying is we have a discussion where sarcasm/attacks and the rest of that stuff is left off. With regard to the economy, it's doing better than Dems say it's doing but not doing as well as Repubs are saying it's doing.

Looks like the Dems have control of the Senate now too. A woeful day indeed for conservatives, however it's about time things changed up a little bit. Imo our country needs an altering of partisan power every few years in order to compliment and offset the changes that each party enacts. Otherwise, as we see now, our deficit is out of control, we start to lose the faith of foreign investors, and the party in control gets brazen in the stupidity of the choices it makes.

The other side certainly does the same. Her voting record is certainly liberal. I guess I could dredge it up but she has been consistently left on social issues like abortion rights, gay rights, expanded health care and economic programs. She won the position over the more moderate Steny Hoyer, so the thought that a liberal would not be elected in by the dems certainly doesnt hold true. In fact as Leiberman's ouster from the democratic party shows, they have not much interest in moderate democrats, at least in the party leadership. Quote:With regard to the economy, it's doing better than Dems say it's doing but not doing as well as Repubs are saying it's doing.perhaps, I think thats something that we will only see. Growth has steadied from 4.0% to 2.5%, which if we sustain that isnt a boom but is healthy

Tom Delay was by no means a moderate and he rose to power as well. If you criticize one party, you must take a honest look at the other as well. Also, technically speaking growth that is 2% or less is not growth and the economy is considered to be in recession or at least that I remembered it from Econ.
