I don't think anyone really thought you'd be there anyway.
Ryan, didn't you say you were at VIR this weekend?

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

You said you were going to the 4th Annual BBQ too and then changed last minute. I think most expected to same here and appears to be the case.

approximately what time will we be arriving back in harrisonburg???
Can I bum a ride off of anybody? If there is a shortage of drivers, I can still drive and carry people but would prefer to just ride along. I can chip in on some gas money if need be.

Might be missing this now in order to take my car back home to a nice safe garage. I think I might have a long weekend of detailing ahead of me after some recent damage to the hood :?

NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
hey, Shea, I know it sounds rough, but itll happen. And to be honest, a car is a car. There is nothing you can do about that shit, its tough luck and its not worth staying away from your car.
Keep your car here, enjoy it, thats why you bought it. Shit the first time somebody slams their door when you got the car at work or when the first hail stom hits, youll be pissed you didnt keep it at home like your thinking now. But think how much fun it is to drive your car, and that is worth more than just this bullshit.
I know I should be the last person you would think would appreciate your car, but I used to have a mint 99 Eclipse GS, perfect exterior/interior, with only 20k miles. The first few dings and people fucking it with it, I Couldnt stand it. But then I took her for a drive and remembered, this shit is gonna happen, I am willing to take a little bit of a hit, just so I could sit in her and drive her everyday, and god willing, I PAID FOR IT, IM GONNA DRIVE IT!
Thats why you see with my current gsx, I take care of other things first unless their essential. Just 3 weeks ago, I Got oil spilled on it. Yeah I was pissed, but driving her was worth it. Dont let the jackasses of the world spoil your fun.

Good words, DJ. Just keep it there Shea. It's a driving machine, driving being the operative word.
Two feet.
I was talking to David about bringing outside guests, but he wasn't sure. I have a friend who is within 15 mins of the Ferrari dealer, obvisouly hes not a member, any way he can join? He's willing to pay a fee or whatever.
This is completely off-topic, but I strongly disagree with keeping a nice car at JMU. After having had one there, and having had it vandalized WAY worse than Shea's, I would never do it again. I've heard about people getting every window broken out of their cars, mirrors kicked off, etc.
You just never know when it might happen, and it sucks to have to get stuff like that fixed. You appreciate your car way more when it sits for a while and you get to come home and drive it. Plus, you keep the miles off of it. Hell, I pimped the Pooparu with spinnars through campus my last year and I loved it lol!
Driving / parking a nice car on a campus full of bad women drivers and total retards is the worst thing in the world. Ask Aaron, every time I came down I always asked to park my cars at his house way outside of town in an upscale neighborhood.
To get back on topic, I can't come although I'd love to =( Have to work~

I dont see the point of appreciating the vehicle unless your driving it. And who cares how many miles?

Barry, I talked to Ryan about it tonight, and your friend would have to pay 20 dollars to become a member as this is a unique opportunity that FOW does for MM'ers...we would get him a shirt as well...if you could ask him his size we'd appreciate it. Thanks
Part of appreciating a car is not just driving it alone. You can't take it into one extreme and say you don't care what happens to your car appearance wise as long as you can still enjoy it by driving it. Part of what a car is to the owner is a sense of pride and their ability to make memories. For most of us it's our most valuable possession, so when something happens, like a small ding or whatnot on a relatively new car, that's always going to hurt.
Like DJ said, life goes on. You can choose to enjoy your car and not get shit messed up, but in a college town where the majority of drivers are girls talking on cell phones, that is easier said than done.
on a side note, any idea when we would get back on saturday?
D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:And who cares how many miles?
As we were talking about in another thread, cars obviously depreciate continuously... which is fine. Keeping the miles off minimizes how much they do depreciate, so that you can get more money out of them when you want to sell them to move up to something better. I thought that goes without saying though..

I'm with DJ 110% on this one. I see no point in having a car that you just plop in the garage. I don't care about putting miles on my cars, thats why I bought it. I can't even count the number of people that have asked me why I don't get a daily driver. Because I love driving the supra, that's what I bought it for and that's what I'm going to do with it. It's absolutely absurd to be making payments on a car that is going to sit in a garage while I drive around some pos. Does this come at the cost of the exterior? Of course it does, but I'm in college, whatever car I drive is going to get dented/dinged up. So if its going to happen anyways, may as well make it happen to something you enjoy driving.
