Legal Implications of the Fatal Carrera GT crash

Basically another case of the litigation state trying to blame others rather than take responsibility for their own actions.

In this case there might be some merit to suing the track for not putting the wall back to where it was supposed to be, assuming that the wall's location made the accident significantly worse. Moving a wall 10 feet back probably wouldn't have helped in such a high speed crash.

But I don't for one minute buy this bullshit about Porsche making a defective car because the average person can't drive it. If it is truly the case that the car is dangerous to operate without training then let make a High Performance Driver's license. Its not Porsche fault this guy made a driving mistake and died.

Furthermore if your 200 mph supercar is having a handling problem it might be a good idea to have it looked at before you go risk your life driving it at high speed on a race track.

And beyond all that I don't believe in wrongful death lawsuits. Suing someone for millions of dollars is not going to bring your loved one back from the dead. If someone was truly responsible for someone else's death they should go to jail. If it doesn't warrant them going to jail then that falls under the 'shit happens' department.

That whole thing is absurd. The only real claim i could see would be with the track itself, for letting the ferrari driver onto the straight, and for not moving the wall back. But the claims about the car itself? Absolutely absurd.

Amen.

Quote:Keaton Estate - Failure to inform Rudl that he had been having handling problems with the Porsche, and that he had a recent incident where he lost control of the car.
Eat a D.. that's horseshit and I smell it from here.

Quote:Ferrari driver - Not paying attention to the flagman, entering the track improperly, driving too slowly, and moving directly into the path of the Porsche.
Are... you... kidding... me... I hope they use this exact sentence in court... including "driving too slowly"

I was upset before I read the article. Now I'm disappointed. If this affects what porsche sells in the US (like the bastard did earlier), this lawyer and this loser's wife should be hung. First off, if the guy owned a f***ing carrera gt, she doesn't need the money. Secondly, why punish a driver for following flagging instructions. Don't you think he's had a hard enough time dealing with the fact that he was in the way and could consider himself responsible for the death.

who here would get into a supercar with a guy they dont know and just met and go 145+ around a racetrack???? I know damn well i wouldnt  The claims are retarded, but you think the whole assumption of risk thing would come into play and there would be no suit except maybe against the race track for the whole wall thing. But like G said its not gonna bring your husband back, plus she should be happy, shes getting life insurance money. "Tail happy" thats kinda funny, im sure they meant to write "that make it, a Panty dropper"

I definitely have too. Fritz's heavily modified RX-7. And I thought I was going to die, and that was ok.

That right there is probably the most well timed, unintended publicity stunt EVER.
When it comes to Ryan Jenkins, the story ends with me putting him in the wall.
