I'm willing to bet there are quite a few $30k jobs to be had even if you didn't want to drive farher than 30 miles. Your location in not unique, it's just in a different direction to comparable ones.

Let's be fair here, comparing anywhere in WVA to Richmond, a major, albeit it a small city, is like apples and cherries.

I've been to both Charlestown, and Harpers Ferry WVA, and they are a different world than Richmond.
