i don't think i'd try to clear a brake hard line. Look to see if there is a junction box or break anywhere between the MC and calipers. Do the same test on the fluid to determine which peice of line is clogged. Then just buy a line from a parts store and replace it, should be a fairly easy fix, and much cheaper than a new caliper ($10).
another productive weekend...
installed the new 25mm master cylinder and still couldn't get fluid to the rear calipers. I noticed the fluid would get to the line now just before the calipers, but wouldn't come through the bleeder valve. I simply swapped the rear calipers from our parts car and voila, instant fluid! so then I bled the brakes which had a TON of air and bedded in the pads. WOAH does this thing stop! The stock shitty tires don't hold up very well and no I can't lock-dem-shits up because of the stuipd ABS, but I'm very impressed with the setup so far. The new suspension is also very impressive.
Now the only problem, back before we took it out to bed in the pads, the car wont' start (again)
I'm almost certain its the ignition switch. I've replaced the starter, added a 2nd ground wire, checked the spark plug wires, new plugs, distributor and rotor are fairly new, and even bought a new f'in $75 battery this weekend. It has been starting irregulary the last couple weeks, but it comes and goes. sometimes it starts to crank, other times it won't do anything.
Either way, we just kick started it to move it around this weekend.
Then we met with Bret Hamilton about our roll bars and finished removing Eric's headliner and sunroof and my floor carpet where the seats will be. We dropped off the cars for the roll bar install and should have them in 2 weeks!
Also finally saw Eric's new paint job, and the flat black looks really mean on his car. We also finished the parts car and dragged it out of the barn so it can be hauled away!
pics up very soon under "BMW project album 2"

Have you looked at the starter solinoid, or is it integrated onto the starter?

For anyone who has trouble resizing photos, download the Microsoft ImageResizer Powertoy (Click to download) To resize photos, all you have to do is select the photo(s) you want to resize, right click and select "Resize Pictures" and then select 800x600. All the resized pictures will have (medium) inserted into their name.

i like the 2nd photochop (5 spoke wheels).
It's a little deceiving - the 2nd photoshop looks a bit better because I made the wheels bigger and the spokes don't look as distorted  .

TD PR2s are not a good looking wheel. Strong and functional, but not pretty
most of the E30s are on the first wheel... in various colors or polished.

thanks Adam!
I like the P2's from these pics, but from my initial impression I've wanted the P1's... I think thats what we're leaning towards.
Oh, another question. On a 15x7 wheel, woiuld there be a huge difference with a 205 vs. a 225 tire (new azenis rt615)? The 225 isn't available until november.
I'm probably just getting the RT 615's for my stock 14x6 wheels for a while to save money on a set of wheels, but this is for Eric's benefit. thanks.

A 225 width 615? What are the the rest of the numbers.... 225/45/15???
I would go with 225's - it may slow down the steering up front a bit, but the extra grip will be worth it. Ideally, 205 front, 225 rears but then you cant rotate tires.

I'm running 205/50/15 up front, 225/50/15 in back if that helps you out at all. I'm waiting for the rt615's in the 225's as well.

I'm an idiot, same size Andy just listed. I'll have to think about this now.
p.s. didn't finish loading the rest of the pics last night so they should be finished shortly:

Hrm... i wouldnt mind a set of 225/50's to throw on the car so I could just drive it up to summit to instruct a few events.

well picked up the race seats from the "MM House" in NoVA on Friday along with a "new" steering wheel from BJ (thanks!).
Spent part of the weekend trouble shooting why the car wouldn't start. Actually used a voltmeter and found the starter to be bad. replaced that (for the 2nd time now!) and it fired up!
I'm pretty sure several weeks ago I overheated the starter by jump starting it too much.
So this week the cage guy should finish both cars (we'll see  ). Then I'll mount the seats this coming weekend and continue on my huge to do list. I'm also having the cage guy weld in my sunroof panel and get me a quote on a skid plate to protect my oil pan. I realized now with the lower suspension its at a huge risk of getting ripped off.
I'm still not sure about the gauges, but I might have to have a shop figure out why they won't work.
