I purchased my new track car today from a guy in GA: 1989 BMW 325i. I've only been looking for miatas, but this came along and I wanted to give the car a try and see how I like it.
I'd like to send a HUGE thank you to Chan and Scotty for driving to check out the car, make repairs to get it running, and drive it home (all the way to VA!).
Overall the car is in good shape. The odomoter is stuck at 232,xxx and the tach doesn't work. The paint isn't that great and it needs a valve adjustment.
Other than that there is NO rust on the car (sold and lived in GA) and most of the electronics work. The brakes are strong, engine pulls strong, body panels match up, tires are in decent shape, newer battery, good exhaust, no water leak in the trunk.
The car had not started in a month, but Chan and Scotty pulled a fuel pump from another junked E30 on the guy's property and replaced the one on my car and it started right up.
the cool thing is I got the whole deal for $1100 ($100 for the fuel pump)!

so here's what we arrived to. this dude had 12 busted ass piles in his front, side, and back yards and nothing ran except the E30 (didn't really run actually) and his brother's explorer. it was like Jen's worst nightmare of what our yard will become if she were to leave me on my own for a year.
piles included a datsun 510, bmw 325i (e36 and 30) and 535i wagon, a mark 3 and 4 jetta, an el camino, a salvaged type r, a 240, a ford escape and explorer, and a vultured e30 in the back that we stole a fuel pump from.

I really should have shopped around more.... I didn't even know that E34 was the big six! And a wagon. It wasn't a 5-spd was it? Wanna go back tomorrow? :thumbup:
