go Boobies!!! That is awesome that you tackled that job on your own and were successful! How many brake lines did you destroy in the process?? ;-)
Did the 88 and 89 breed and spit out some mutant 84 or has the disease taken full control?

wow that sucks that you had to swap the pans, sorry that oversized plug didn't work out!

Oh, just so you know, on the 318, you don't have to move or remove anything to remove the oil pan. I did an oil pump on my lunch break. Thought that'd make you feel good. Tongue

ah it was worth the try before diving into the pan swap. the nice thing was I put the old pan on the parts car engine so it doesn't get moisture into it.

This is coming along well young Boodizzles. This has likely been answered by why did you choose not to fix up that vert? It was a very nice lookin ride if you could fix the front.

update from this past weekend:

major lesson learned... always take before pics or label exactly what parts you remove!

I spent the last week trying to figure out why the car wouldn't start. I replaced a number of things including the starter/solenoid, ignition coil, spark plugs (needed to be done anyways), fuses, relays, and tons of hours reading and staring at wires and under the car figuring out what the hell was wrong. I even had my finger slammed in the door by my friend eric

Sunday morning I get under the parts car and see one ground wire that was missing from the 89. I must have removed it when I took out the power steering. 3 minutes later I have the car started... I'll be adding another ground wire (Chan's suggestion) to help prevent future starting problems and provide a stronger ground.

I'll have some pics up tomorrow.

Other accomplishments include changing the rear drum shoes on the honda, a task I wish upon no one. The pedal feel still feels a little weak after bleeding the brakes twice and I adjusted the parking brake but it still isn't holding enough.

Adjust the drums if the pedal feel is 'off' - the little star looking thing inside the drum brakes.
