talked to the guy who rebuilt my motor today, they used to race a lot of M10's and he said the pressure I'm seeing in such long corners is actually pretty good. If it got close to 10, he'd be worried. So no bling big $$ illegal oil pans to solve a problem that doesn't exist for me thanks. :wink:

Not sure what you were after? A solution? You were give solutions, considering your 'rules' don't allow certin modifications there isn't much you can do except pray you don't suck the pickup dry and blow your motor. You need about 10psi of oil pressure for every 1000rpm, any less than that is unnacceptable. Another option is looking for a high flow oil filter (canton sells these as well). I'm running a high flow Ford Motorsports filter that was originally made for the old 5.0's. I see pressures around 60psi hot at idle and pegged off the mark (over 100) at redline. With a 'stock' filter I see around 30 and 90 at redline. That's a big difference. Now it doesn't filter as well as the 'stock' one but I'm running ~12qt's of M1 and chance it every 2-3 track weekends.

Its one of those weenie douchebag protests..... sure its illegal according to the rules, and call me a cheater but i'd sure as hell baffle the pan and risk a protest from some donkey that cant beat me on the track rather than risk the health of my engine.

Sure, but it is a performance issue. If you are getting a little starvation, its not enough to seriously hurt the engine, but it may be enough to get the engine hotter than it should be, and cause it to loose some power.
the slippery slope comment was really just about the "i dont care if its against the rules" kind of attitude. You can justify cheating any way you want, its still cheating.

yea, I'm sure every single BMW does as well, I'm sure most cars do it. But considering you are RACING and doing it over and over and over again, I wouldn't call it a good idea. 10psi for any length of time, esp at 4k would make me crap my pants, but then again a new STOCK engine cost me 5k.
