I know I should call and find this out, but im at work, and impatient
I was curious as to how much an alignment usually costs, and also how much it usually costs to have tires mounted/balenced (I think I remember people saying costco did this?)
I have a friend at a Honda dealership who said I could have all that done for $50. Good price?

mounting + balance alone is usually more than 50. alignment is usually 75-100.

hondas are "toe and go" and shouldnt be much anyway.
and if your car doesnt need an alignment, you are wasting your money even if its only $50

My car needs an alignment badly, so thats not a worry.

I ballpark 10 bucks a tire for mounting and balancing. I go to Big-L tire out on Main. They do a great job, and use stick-on weights on the inside of the wheel instead of those ugly-ass crimp on things. I know you're not in the 'burg, so I suggest you call around, and ask what the cost is for a mount and balance for four tires.

Finding someone to mount and balance track tires in NoVa is a huge pain in my ass.

Is it really that bad? Even w/$10 per tire, $50 for mounting/balance/alignment seems like a good deal. When I get them (should be when I get back from Japan) I think Im going to have to take him up on that offer

No one wants to mount track tires because they dont have enough (or any) tread on them.

You'll be hard-pressed to find mount/balance in NoVA for $50. I know a guy and it still costs me $60.

I know someone and it cost me $20... but I am not sure how often I can (ab)use that.

it's too bad mike doesn't work at merchants anymore, i got mine for free
i'll talk to my local guy, he's been handling our cars for a while, and usually mounts/balances tires (on the car or not) for $15-$20/set
I've had alignments cost $70-$105 - higher end being camber as well for the civic.

I can actually still do it (There are a few different places where I *think* they will let me use there stuff. I know of at least one I can use for sure). If I where back in NOVA I'd hook you guys up. I have been thinking about doing my own alignments too.
