CaptainHenreh Wrote:I wouldn't have turned my car on, and if you didn't, I say take it to court. You might get off for the front plate, if you get it inspected you won't have to pay the inspection and if the officer didn't get a good listen to your car (and it's really not loud) you might get off on that, too. Besides, writing a ticket for "not cooperating" is bogus, and I'd say so.

As American citizens we all have the right to be represented in court. I have always believed in going to court, even if it's just to plead guilty, and explain my situation. You didn't have a front plate: you're guilty of breaking the law. However, it's not your fault the plate was stolen -- the Judge might have mercy. Or he might not. Either way, the worst that can happen is you have to pay the amount you pay now. No biggie.

Would you have to pay court costs as well? I know it might seem trivial, but that $56 or so is a pain in the ass.

Today I had a MD state trooper follow me for 5+ miles with my straight pipes - including a high rev acceleration run onto the highway. Got scared for a while and I thought he might pull me over - but he didn't. +1 cop who doesn't care as long as the car isn't foreign  .
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

oh, and those mitsu's are not 4g63s! its a straight six, 2.5 litre i believe. and turbo...oh yes, oh yes.

The Conquest/Starion is a 2.6L 4-cylinder. The same one used in the Dodge Caravan and the D-50 pickup. From what I hear an EVO turbo bolts right up to it. Bad for headgaskets and normal stuff like that but good engines otherwise. There was one for sale in Winchester for like $800 running last week (in the Trader).

Maybe you can find someone who will trade you a nice one for your Rice.... Smile

You have to pay court costs whether you go to court or not.

my bad Jeff....at least the displacement was close. 2.6 for a 4 banger is getting pretty high up there.

i like how the 4g63 is a nice sqaure engine though, if the 2.6L 4 banger has a hellova long stroke i might wanna stay away from it. Although an EVO turbo bolting right up sure is nice, just gotta do the research. The mk3 turbo sure is nice though, i saw a turbo one with upgraded suspension and a blown engine for 600 bucks on dragva, and 7m-gte engines aren't too expensive ($800ish, 6 month 60k warranty), just never know what ELSE might be goin, so im kinda weary.
