It has everything to do with NRA money being pulled from one congresscritter (you're aware each one of them has an "NRA Score" right?) and doubled down on a different one more supportive of their agenda in the primaries. Of course, they're a lobbying organization and thats their right - but they've taken a hard line stance against ANY new gun legislation, rather than coming to the table as partners. That is the thing that is going to fuck them in the end, leaving their constituents holding their dicks and nerf guns, instead of their pew pew pew toys.
It may not happen this election cycle, but, thats my prediction. Reasonable minds may disagree.
On Edit - I'd rather they work together and figure this out than just banning all the guns, FWIW.

I think a more likely scenario is someone other than Trump or Pence gets the R primary nomination. Rs can absolve themselves of responsibility with their base and can also distance themselves from Trump.
Pence is most definitely not worse than Trump... and that has nothing to do with Twitter habits. I understand the threat Pence poses to unraveling social progress, but IMO Trump is shamelessly subverting many key aspects of American government. Sn asshole that operates within the lines is better than one who doesn't, provided they're both spewing hate.

The notion of the democrats taking away all the guns is a fucking boogeyman. Stop it. I heard the same shit for 8 years while Obama was in office - guess what? Still got your guns. You know, that's great. Democrats don't wanna take my guns awesome.
Did someone tell them that? Can they shut the fuck up about wanting to take them, plz?

I don't "partner" with anyone working in bad faith, and I don't blame the NRA for doing so either.
So tell me. What "gun safety" legislation in the last 10 years has had something in it for me, Rexy Gunguy, to "negotiate" for. I'm honestly curious.

Have you noticed that the people that spew the narrative that the Dems are going to take everyone's toys away arent actually the ones in congress? Hence, the boogeyman. Fear is a hell of a drug and the GOP is serving up double-fisted servings to most of America.

You can have something or you can have nothing.
I am afraid the gun owners will come away with nothing.
Just my predictions, not my desire.

You understand that A: that is "were coming for your guns" and B: NOT NEGOTIATION. Its tyranny.
Not only that, but it's the only thing that gives the NRA any power.
If the Left would shut the fuck up about guns, the NRA would have literally nothing. But they just can't shut up....(especially when it's white folks dying, then Democrats are real energized. Black kids, well fuck em for being poor, right Nancy?)

Yup. And they havent said that..... yet. But the public is getting restless while more school kids are shot and there will be a groundswell of "we have to do something" which will turn into the above. Again, prediction. I hope I'm wrong, and that we get to keep our pew pew pew toys.... even at the cost of making everyone's life really difficult/uncomfortable.

every last Dem grandstanded on that platform... i'm sure you watched the debates.
AND i think you need to read more about the NRA... they did stand against bump stocks and promoted the anti bump stock bill to their donors... then they lost a major share of donors for it.
estimations in the firearms industry are saying they lost 10% of their lifetime members... they just turned their membership in and said stop communicating with me. and they lost a TON of other yearly members... they aren't the boogieman you think they are anymore.

I mean RJ is right. The left says both:
"Nobody is taking your guns, relax" and
"Let us chip away at your gun rights or you get NOTHING"
In basically the same breath. Can't imagine why gun owners don't trust them, and push the NRA even further to "no new gun laws" extremes

Could it be they lost those members because they pushed a hard line "DO NOTHING" for decades and cultivated that attitude? You cannot separate member action from the NRA's previous behaviors, so they might actually be reaping what they sowed.
I'm a multi-gun owner and I absolutely believe the NRA is absolutely what we think they are. I'm not all THE NRA IS EVIL INCARNATE, but they're not social champions by any stretch of the imagination.
The gun lobby wasn't pushed to extremes by the left. They were there the entire time and just now they're butting against a emboldened left. As a gun owner, I firmly believe they're doing more harm than good.

I dont think the NRA is evil. They have an mission and members fund them to further that agenda, and protecting 2A is important - if things arent supported then those rights absolutely do get eroded and its a check against the gov. I just think their agenda is no longer compatibru with the views of the larger public and they'll lose their influence.

So a readout (not a transcript) of the Trump call with the Ukrainian president was released by the WH and I'm like...this uh, doesn't make Trump look good at all. I guess they're going with the 'it's all very cool and very legal' defense but since this scandal broke they've just kept digging the hole deeper.
The readout kinda implicates the attorney general in all this too.
Oh, and apparently there's another whistleblower from the IRS. This is shaping up to be the most insane grand finale to a bad reality show ever.

He clearly asks for a favor. And the Ukrainian President clearly says we are ready to buy move javelins and we buy lots of US oil. I don't know how this cannot be bad.
On top of this the Biden thing seems to have been investigated by the US and Ukraine already. The only people pushing this narrative are Trump, Rudy, and the RNC.

This shit is damning. Rudy G might be looking at jail time for Logan Act violations, not to mention that they're not going to be able to claim attorney/client privilege given what they were up to.
The fact that WH officials hid the official transcript of the call in a TS+ system shows that it was plainly obvious to even Trump aides how bad this was.
It appears the Acting DNI is in front of Congress right now and digging a hole for himself too. He got the IC IG complaint and instead of taking it to Congress, which is required by law, he instead took it to the White House, who was the subject of the complaint.

why can't impeachment reasons be as simple as getting a blowjob and lying about it?
So we have read the accusations of "U.S. officials" being channeled through this whistle blower. Now to see some proof.
RG might be SOL... he's no longer the Presidents personal council in the actions they say he has been taking... he seems to be acting on behalf of the US government... here is your fall guy.
