Well I was sweating there for a minute that we were gonna see some gun control, but The Furry Robert Francis just killed that for democrats so thanks buddy. I enjoyed your work for the CdC back in the day.

Since my girl Tulsi apparently got nuked (I know she was problematic but I still liked her the best out of all of them.) I guess I'm in the #YangGang now? I dunno. He's the only one with Nukes in his energy plan and he's at least THINKING about the future, even if I don't really see the same thing in that future.

But it's probably gonna be a charmless middle aged democrat establishment woman with some problematic behavior against Trump in 2020 so that will be new and exciting and definitely not a thing that has ever happened before.

What happened to Tulsi? She just faded off into the sunset it seems. I thought she looked promising.

From what I could tell, she didn't do well in the polls the DNC chose for the debate before last so she missed it, then she got called up by the NG, hard to debate when you're doing weekend warrior stuff.

I know Yang has no chance, Yang probably knows Yang has no chance but I really loved his immigrant story and there's lots of his platform I could support, more than Biden or Fauxcahontas anyway...

Climate change is not going away, and its an important issue that needs to be addressed. Renewables, nuclear energy, carbon sequestration strategies etc etc etc...

And having little dipshits preach at me isnt going to accomplish any of that.

Quote:President Trump on Monday said during a spirited exchange with Pakistani reporters that he would be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize "if they gave it out fairly."

The president appeared to revel in questions from members of the Pakistani press who praised him and pontificated about the conflict in Kashmir shortly before a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

"I do appreciate the tremendous spirit of the press," Trump said. "I don't see that with us — ours always tear our country down. With your press they want to see something positive in the country."

One reporter suggested to Trump that he would "definitely" be deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize if he's able to mediate a solution to the tensions in the disputed Kashmir region.

“I think I’m gonna get a Nobel Prize for a lot of things, if they gave it out fairly, which they don’t," Trump said.

Sure, she has money or she wouldn't be able to pay for a private sailboat (2 weeks on a racing boat with a bucket for a toilet, no props for that?) but I don't know anyone who had the balls to do what she's doing at that age. I only heard bits from her speech today but it sounds like she was kicking ass.

What is the problem with her?  Bottom line is that we are nowhere near where we need to be on climate change.  If a child can get some people kickstarted into action, good.  After all, the younger someone is, the more of the consequences they're gonna have to bear.

People are getting too hung up on one person.  Who cares if Greta Thurnberg was or was not a catalyst to achieving one concrete action.  Fact is that the more people recognize the problem and the more people treat the problem seriously, the greater the chances that we can make the changes needed to avert climate disaster.  Millions of people marched last week for the climate strike.  If nothing else, it means people are waking up to the threat.

I don't understand why people feel the need to litigate how, when, and if one particular person made a difference.

Most folks do not have the control or the budget to do so. Outside of the government (which is who the protests are aimed at), maybe Jeff Bezos has enough $ to do something? Everyone else is wasting their time if they cannot drive change within a year? MLK didn't end racism, so why did he bother?

I made no mention of the protests or anything that required money to accomplish. Here's an example that didn't require handlers to fly and pick up a plastic boat.

At what point will linking to every type of logical fallacy going to be a fallacy in itself? You can make an argument that any statement anyone makes falls under one of those.

Well now I'm pretty confused on your point. Greta is in that group of people, so clearly they're all wasting their time?

*edit* I get that you aren't impressed by her faux "carbon neutral" trip, but everyone had to travel to this thing. She used it as a chance to get some attention, which is an important part of riling up support. And you titled her as "spoiled" which since you don't know her I assume you mean she is from a family with $$, which isn't an evil thing. She chose to do a lot more than waste it on iDevices and clothes. Anyway, you're allowed to not like her that's fine. Maybe it's the braids.

The Senate agreed unanimously to Chuck Schumer's resolution to deliver the whistleblower's complaint to both intelligence committees. I suspect that the content of the whistleblower's complaint is worse than what's being publicly talked about re: Ukraine/Biden.
