I think, maybe, you're just unlucky. My wife drove a manual Saab 900 when I met her Then a manual Civic. Then a manual Mazda3.

I like that Taylor positioned keeping your foot on the brake as a hardship. As if you don't have to do this with a manual. Also, we have Park.

I rarely have my foot on the brake at stop lights. I'm usually in neutral with both feet relaxed in the floor board and slight pressure on the hand brake if I'm feeling froggy. Same for stop and go. I like how a manual car does move unless you want it to or you're on a hill.

The moral of the story is always have at least one newer, reliable (preferably warrantied) car if you insist on owning out-of-warranty german bullshit.

Don't move to Settle. The city is the second hilliest in the US, behind SF. Parallel parking the 911, with manual steering and ridiculously stiff clutch, is pretty miserable.

This too, you chose poorly.  My wife drove a manual when we met and when we went new car shopping last fall, her two requirments were a sunroof and a manual transmission.

If the F31 came in manual this thread would have never happened. Although I did talk to BPC about converting one, but it would have to go RWD, BMW never sold a N20+xDrive+Manual combo.

Meh. Since we both contribute to the income I feel it's only right to discuss how we spend our income; I respect my wife so it's something I would consider disrespectful if I just chose how we spend quite a bit of our money.

Then again, both my wife and I have slush funds so we can spend it however we want - no questions asked.

She doesn't work, so her slush fund comes from my income. I imagine this is kinda what it feels like to pay alimony.

I think it was at a brewery in Reston for RJ's birthday like 10 years ago. It involved some disagreeable women near us and their coital habits including their heads through toilet seats. I'm curious if she remembers this conversation because I remember it vividly. Pretty sure I told RJ afterwards that was in love with her.
