I have voted Libertarian for the last few elections actually. No interest in a two party system.

IF there was a plan to undo all the BS that's been done. Most of the issues I see are from government mismanagement over decades. But the government cant just pull out of everything and walk away. Whatever they walk away from will be a hot mess and whoever got fired (government and contractors) will need jobs (so the economy needs to be strong enough to absorb that). Its going to be hard to undo it... most people think (and it might be) to keep going down our current path but I don't think its sustainable. So far I haven't seen a single Libertarian that has outlined a real plan action for ALL the party lines they hold. and IMHO letting one loose without a plan is just as dangerous as the path we are on. So until we have a 3rd party that is put together and has its act together (visibly more than the 2 terrible ones we have now), they will get no real traction. Here is a basic one... Most Libertarians want all drugs legalized. They cant explain how this Federal action will get paid for by the local governments... the increase in hospitalizations and ambulance rides, etc. simple answer is "oh we will bill the drug user" except most of them cant afford to pay the bill and wont. so you are still SOL. Will this cycle last forever? Probably not, but how do we survive the unknown timeline? FYI... I'm a fiscal conservative, social liberal, and I read the constitution verbatim (and take the federalist papers, actions of the time, etc to understand what things mean). I love freedom and respect the law (and how to change the law).

Very infrequently do i speak to someone who affiliates strongly with one party who is actually willing to listen/consider voting for someone from any other opposing party; i typically just hear how bad the other view point is. fiscal conservancy (doesn't seem to be a consideration in recent administrations), liberal social attitudes (fortunately this is progressing despite the current administration) is what i get from most libertarians i speak to.

It only takes listening to that guy speak for 90 seconds to realize the national party are dummies for nominating him multiple times. I understand this is representative of the party, but do you feel all Republicans thinks like Trump or all Democrats think like Hillary Clinton? Join us and craft the party you want from the inside. I promise there are more of us than what makes the press.

Vote third party. You can HUR DUR YuR WaStInG YuR VoTE me all you want, but nothing actually changes until you actually take action. And if you're afraid to take action, change won't happen. People are sheeple and when they see a legitimate chance at winning they'll jump off of their bandwagons, switch their votes and keep stuff like this from happening.
Neither socialism nor what we have now are what our country needs. There needs to be a middle ground and I would really love to support a third party who agrees.

If you dont want the extreme viewpoint, kick the taxation is theft dont tread on snek people out of the Libertarian party.
Here's the thing, voting 'third party' is a waste because of our first past the post voting system. Now if the Democratic party or GOP falls apart they may get replaced by the Libertarian party but you're still going to have a duopoly. If people really want the Libertarian (or Green, or whatever) party to win they need to:
*Push for ranked choice voting *Get their party elected at the state and local level *Build a national base of support (volunteer, donate, etc.) If the only thing libertarians or anyone else does is show up every 4 years to make a protest vote against the status quo, the result is going to be the same every time. Furthermore, people seem to think that if we had 3 or 4 parties competing in Congress and state legislatures that somehow things would be better. Other countries have multi-party legislatures and they still have to deal with scandals, extremism, and intransigence. It's not a magic bullet.

We can spend a fortune on stuff pretty easily, and we do... and we don't even have a cost benefit on what we are spending. and then we cant even take in as much as we spend (as a government). The don't tread on me is more of a ... governments big enough, try to figure out the stuff you are screwing up now before you take on new stuff.

Eh, I mean, saying 'Government is wasteful with money' is pretty easy to say so I'd imagine if that's what people meant, that's what they would say. 'Taxation is theft' is a protest about the legitimacy of levying taxes for which people are legally obligated to pay or face jail time.
Another variant is the, 'I don't want to pay taxes for stuff I don't use'. Which isn't that crazy of a take on things. No government in the history of ever has tried that to my knowledge. But, I'd it'd also be interesting to see what a country would look like if citizens could just do a la carte taxation.

And my point here is that if you, as a democrat, are unwilling to do that then you are just as complicit in inviting a situation like what we're seeing in the White House right now, just with a totally different set of ideals that are frankly, also completely damaging and wrong
