Before anyone says anything, no, I'm not buying these.
The vert is a clean car worth having. The white car would be a solid parts car or beater.
Well actually, I will totally buy these for $12 and a case of PBR.
I had big plans of cutting the fenders on the sedan and stuffing the biggest redneck snow tires I could fit and just sending it off as a halfass safari build. Flimflam is doing one now, so I'm content to watch that from the comfort of my office.
The sedan is pending right now, destined to become a donor for other projects to the new owner.
you people.

Is selling beat ole used E30s kind of like when drug users share needles with each other?

Can someone let me drive a nice example of an e30 so I can find out what all the hype is (or isn't) about?

Not sure if you realize this, but talk of swapping an E91 is crazier than anything I've ever seen related to an E30 here.

The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

I disagree because there's no rust involved

I've never driven a "nice" E30. They are 30+ year old cars, so imagine buying a BMW, and replacing every single rubber part, replacing the dash, all new suspension, rebuilding the motor and trans (These things get really buzzy and bad sounding with age), replacing every accessory, repainting it, all of the brake lines, and having a perfect 30 year old leather interior.
That's big money. An E30 that's 95% of what it felt like when it came off the show room floor is $10,000+ if you're lucky.
That said, a decent E30 is still fun and "modern" enough to be live-able. Objectively, an E36 might be better, but they're ugly as fuck (M3 excluded) and really not "special". E30s are fun because they came in so many different flavors, with different trims, and little secret 80s quirks.

You guys are defining "nice e30" wrong. A "nice" one is one that drives well, two or less dash lights on constantly, most exterior lighting works, and the seats don't leave stains on your clothes. If EVERYTHING works like new, that's not an e30.
For example:
That convertible is not nice, it's automatic (see "drives well")
However the white sedan sounds "nice" as it sounds like it just needs to be push started every time and comes with extra body panels!
The only thing that stops a bad guy with a van is a good guy with a van

Those doors the white ones come with are from my part out that I didn't want sitting in my basement anymore. Dave was kind enough to take 2 truck loads (literally) of E30 parts off my hands
Chan, when are you going to stop being responsible and get back in th game? Miatas are too reliable.

This guy gets it. I just want to drive an e30 that doesn't come from Taylor or Dave (minus MMCOGNITO).

Sometimes I peruse things that are happening here.... https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/forumdisplay.php?f=148
This is mostly why I think an engine swap on a modern car is nothing like the rabbit hole these guys have launched themselves down.
