Alright.
Im selling my Miata. This is the one that Taylor had(of the Re:Miata post). It now has 154,300 miles on it, and it will go up as I daily drive it. Mechanically its great, I drove it over 300 miles yesterday and it didnt break a sweat. Cosmetically not perfect, so paint missing here and there and a dent in the fender. Passenger rocker has some rust. Top is pretty ripped up but it works. Battery, alternator, and slave cylinder have all been replaced in the past few months. Currently could use an oil change and a good cleaning, but hopefully Ill have that done real soon. Was going to sell it with a Hard Dog M2 rollbar, but that looks like its going another way; I have a couple sets of OEM wheels and a set of struts that can also go with it. Looking to get $2,400 for it, might be slightly flexible as I've found something else I want to move on to. This has been a great Miata and I'll be sad to see it go.

Glws. Don't take offense to Scott's offer. He's just like that. I think you can get what you're asking if you're patient. It's a solid car. Strongest Motor I've felt in a NA.

Offense? It was a fair offer for a base Miata that has rust, needs paintwork and a top......

Yeah, I'm not letting this go for $1500. I know this Miatas not perfect but it's still a real champ. If anyone has something cool to trade, though, I might consider that.
Also, I'm currently clay-barring the car and it looks a bit better. I'd recommend buffing it really well or something still, but it's also my first time using a clay bar so I didnt expect it to turn out amazing. Afterwards I'm planning to change the oil and clean the interior up some.

Oil and Filter just changed.

What you're willing to pay and what he can actually get are different. You'd be insulting yourself if you claimed to ever offer market value for a car. Some younger version of me when come scoop this car no problem.
No, a Miata expert would not pay that price, but they also wouldn't be interested in this car except to flip, so they wouldn't want to pay much at all. Now that's not a fair statement, I've offered over market value for the right car that I really wanted multiple times, all of which I still own and are living a pampered life unlikely to be leaving my possession any time soon ( I think I'm up to 6 ish keepers currently in storage) For my Garnet red NB I offered over what they told me they wanted for it and wouldn't take the extra, so that was admittedly a steal and a very easy flip, but it's a keeper too.
By "younger version of me", do you mean the type of guy who pays over for the "wrong" car and complains about it while owning it? If that's what you mean, you are correct.
I would be curious to see your examples of "sold" cars in alike condition that you are basing my "low" offer on. My offer was market correct and fair for the car in it's current condition. I sold a car in the same condition for less than I offered for this one (a "rare" car at that). Can he get more? Probably. But my offer, as they all are, are a cash, no fuss, no "asking permission", offer with immediate pick up. It also doesn't come with any hard feelings when he said no. I even sent it to a friend who is looking..........
You are correct, I would be interested in it for a flip, but after I put on a new top, fixed the rust and sorted the paint.
I feel like you're overreacting because you're assuming I had a problem with your offer. I did not.
Yes, I was referring someone that isn't patient enough to wait for a good deal when I said "younger version of myself".

I actually was taking great offense to "You'd be insulting yourself if you claimed to ever offer market value for a car" Which is far from the truth.
I meant it as a compliment for you finding good deals. (08-20-2018, 12:21 PM)Scott Wrote: (08-20-2018, 12:07 PM)Senor_Taylor Wrote: I feel like you're overreacting because you're assuming I had a problem with your offer. I did not.

Alright y'all, because I'm an impatient youngster and because I think I've found the project I want to move on to, but this has to go first, for the next couple days, MM price is $2000 FIRM. Steal this from me before I change my mind.
No really, act fast because I'm liable to go back up in like 30 minutes.

Alright y'all. I bought myself a new project, so this needs to go. 155k miles, needs nothing to drive. Asking 2000, 1900 for MM. Price is FIRM.

Peel the plastidip off the wheels.
Take more, better photos.
Provide more information about the car.
You don't even have the year of the car in your ad.
Also does it still have the roll bar or no?

Im just going to make a new ad, since this feels like a mess. Its posted more places, I didnt realize I forgot the year here.
