Project: Space Wagon
That 1 car life though, loving it.

$800 isn't far fetched. My Canyon note was $650/mo, add insurance and property tax for the year into that and you ain't far off

Got the car back from the shop for sensor failure repair.... Leave it to BMW to design a sensor that requires an oil seal that fails at 70k miles and wicks oil into the sensor that causes it to go tits up.

i think you hit the high point of your BMW ownership with the 135. the newer wagons are cool but will you really be getting stupid grins without the manuel trans, considering you drive mostly for fun now?

The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

You're dead on balls accurate with the 135.

I think you're right about the lack of a clutch pedal.  I've been driving around my parents TSX (JDM Accord, y0!) and its not that bad.  Of course, the steering/handling of the TSX makes the wagon feel like the fat pig that it is.

My wife is trying to talk me off the ledge into keeping the wagon, she is a fully on board member of the manual transmission preservation society as well. She also wants another 135... I would do all kinds of moose stuff for a 1M.

i mean...if you wanted rid of the wagon, is it fair to say you'd get what you want out of it? if its not hard to move, revolve that door, because its clear your heart isn't in it even if you're not necessarily angry at it some days. i say get out of it before you do something stupid (read: $$$) with it or it finds some other creative way to destroy some other overly expensive bullshit part that owners of other makes would never put up with.

question is, what the hell do you replace it with?

F31 is the logical answer. I went to college so I dont have to drive a base model golf.

That one got a good lollerskate from me. I like the exclusivity of the 1M and that it would hold its resale and I really enjoyed my time with the 135 - I have this notion that its smaller/lighter than the M2 but I dont know if its true. But those fender flares on the 1M... sexy.

She said if I want to keep the wagon I can buy whatever I want when its paid off....

Have you seen BaT lately?!?!  That dream is well and truly dead and buried.

997's are reasonable money now.  But those engines are still blowing up, so...

Did she give you a price cap? Why are you considering petty limitations such as market value?

The thing is I already have a garage and we might be building a detached in the near future. You can keep a 911 in the third bay if I get to drive it once a week.

I might be over the 911 thing - I think I'm priced out of the air cooled market, I want nothing to do with the M96 engines in the 996 and the 997's just dont excite me. I could probably get into a 996 turbo and as long as the collector car market keeps going bonkers I wouldnt lose any money on it.
