Still waiting for the Bilstein kit and I cancelled the order. It blows my mind how a company like that can be on global backorder for just about everything for a year.
That's good timing, because its back in the shop with a sensor fault on the valvetronic system, and the bill is $1000+
I'm putting the car up for sale as soon as its back. I'm over this one, and I'm not sure what's next but most likely joining the MM F31 club + some Dinan goodies.

I think the dream is dead.
Here's the thing - the wagon thing really works, but if I want something newer than the E91 your choices get really scarce, you can get a base model Subaru or Golf 4motion or Alltrack. And both of them are horribly boring, which, isnt a terrible surprise since an F31 brand new has a window sticker that's double the price. I drove an Alltrack and was really underwhelmed.
I've got my parents 2nd car for a while, so I can hunker down if I want to wait to find a really nice RWD m-sport E91 or a B8 S4 Avant that isnt being run through the BaT reality distortion machine. I'm ok with the maintenance bills on these things, but I'm not ok with the maintenance bills when I dont love the car. But the best thing to do is to get the newer car with warranty and I already got some price quotes from Tischer on the Dinan stuff. We're talking about using our vacation next year to take a 2-3 week road trip around the US, and do I want to do this in a 10+ year old car?
At some point I'll be adding a 2nd car back into the mix, and that one would be another 135, 2nd gen TT or maybe a 911 - for sure with 3 pedals.

horses for courses.
You have 37 bikes each for a different purpose. Cars are the same.
Comfy transportation appliance for during the week, 3 pedal droptop for the weekends.
Trying to combine them is doing neither well
you're right. you're all right. it was a fool's errand.

YUP, very. It had potential, but needed 100 more HP to be a good decision.
I actually parked next to a red one not too long ago, and was immediately happy about going F31.
NO REGERTS.

+100hp on a golf sportwagen/alltrack is easy and not very expensive, either.
But that doesnt fix the plain, boring interior, shitty seats, numb slow steering, vague gearbox.... its GREAT value for a brand new car, but the F31 is literally DOUBLE the price as a new car and it shows/drives like it. All of it can be 'fixed' with some suspension upgrades, GTI seats drop in, APR tune & GTI turbo... but that's a lot of hassle on a brand new car and effectively voids the warranty as soon as it rolls off the lot.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2008-audi-s4-avant-9/ - the price on this is careening into orbit so I'm out but was watching it with an itchy bid finger. I put a feeler out for a low mile B7 S4 that hasnt been tilted into the BaT alternate reality universe, but I dont expect that will turn up anything. A really nice one with under 60k passed through audizine a few weeks back, so they are out there.
F31 mafia people, is there anything I need to look out for specifically? They were sold new with a 4/50 warranty, right? So if I buy a 2015 with 30k on it, I should have at least a year left on that. I found an estoril blue one in NC with all the m-sport options, even brakes. Nice price too. I got some pricing quotes on Dinan packages from Tischer BMW and its not terrible and cheaper than a timing chain job on an S4.

15+ have revised timing chain guides, previous had issues with the guide degrading outside of warranty. I did enough research to push me to a 15+, if I decide to keep this thing outside of warranty.
15+ Maintenance warranty does not transfer, so no free oil changes while under warranty
All have 4/50k from purchase date, and if CPO, tack on another year after your 4/50 runs out.
M Sport Options = Seats, Steering Wheel, Bumpers, Brakes, but they are all individual check boxes.
Xenon/LED package is a must. Halogens on these cars are garbage.
Adaptive suspension is pretty cool, unless you plan on ripping out the struts anyway.
Camera package with overhead and front bumper cams is great for parallel parking/pulling out of blind driveways/streets
16+ are LCI, all cosmetic improvements, so some slightly different interior bits, fancy all digital cluster (I think), LED headlights/tailights.
What Dinan parts were you looking into?
Is it worth getting into a 16+ ? There's way more choices out there for a 2015, but, I dont have to buy today.
I'm looking into either the P1 or P2 packages, and I'd have them installed at Tischer - warranty and all that.

The changes were so miniscule and cosmetic I don't think so. I didn't look into em deeply, cause there were 0 in my price range when I was looking.
Edit:
LCI changes
New halogen headlight design with LED daytime running lights
Full LED headlights now an option (standard on 340i)
Headlights have moved further apart
Daytime running lights feature upper and lower edge of LED light tubes with LED bar connecting to kidney grille
Optional Adaptive Full LED Headlights with Auto High-Beam System
Broader side air intakes in front apron
New, more intricate styling of central air intake
New full LED tail lights
LED brake lights
Interior
Center console now comes in high-gloss black
New ambient lighting
New chrome accents - seat adjustments, window controls, air vents
Trim finisher in instrument panel expands into all four doors
Cupholders now have sliding cover
Why so hellbent on Dinan?

#1 -
Quote:US and Canadian Specification Vehicles Only
If your vehicle is currently covered by the vehicle manufacturer’s new car limited warranty, Dinan products are warranted for the remaining term of the vehicle manufacturer’s new car limited warranty. The manufacturer’s new car warranty is limited to 4 years or 50,000 miles (80,000 kilometers in Canada), commencing on the date of first retail sale or the date the vehicle is first placed in-service as a demonstrator or company vehicle, whichever is earlier. Dinan’s warranties are transferable when ownership of the vehicle into which the Dinan products were originally installed is sold.
#2 - their shit works. I have lost my tolerance for aftermarket stuff that fits poorly or introduces other compromises onto the car. The BMW performance exhaust I bought for the E91 wagon fits perfect, doesnt rattle, doesnt drone, is an appropriate volume, and wont fall apart. Worth it. Their ECU stuff isnt a sensor tricking piggyback. buy once, cry once.
