What is the delta t (ambient temp vs air temp) of the air coming out of the vents. There should be at least a 12 to 15 degree difference between your indoor air temp and the temp coming out of the air vents, even on an old inefficient unit. Any less and you are (most likely) low on coolant (or there is a restriction in the system, clogged filter dryer, outdoor fan has started to fail..... but that is what an HVAC tech is for) and need to get up the complex’s ass.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

I like my friends too much to ask them to help me move a house full of stuff in the southern heat. Ive helped a few do it a few times and it climbed pretty fast to the top of my least favorite activities list. Our last move was about $1100 all in with tips and that included moving my 450lb gun safe. I would write that check all over again without thinking twice

If I had to move anything that weighed 450 lbs (gun safe, collection of cracked S2000 brake rotors, RJ's mom) I'd absolutely call movers.

I think my mattress is the heaviest/most awkward piece to move out of everything I have. Should be easy...  Cool

Fuck movers in general. I moved from my house in WV to great falls. They did it all in one day, and it $2300 for I think 4 guys. I had already packed everything. I watched one of the dudes scoot a chair on my brand new hardwood floors scratching it at the old house. By the time my stuff got to the new house, I had 2 broken lamps and several scuffs on some of my hard furniture. Filed a claim, never heard shit. Chalked it up and said fuck it I hope I never move again from this house

Home Depot sells them for like $1-2 each. Less hassle than running around to ABC stores and they're all the same size.

+1 for Home Depot, bought a few a while back and used them for quite a few moves. Just flattened them and stored em under my bed at every place. The heavy duty ones are nice for the heavier stuff along with some gorilla tape. Finally ditched them after the last move because hopefully I won't be needing them for a few years but it was money well spent.

monitors and computers come in nice sized boxes for moving,  usually with handles.    I grabbed a bunch from work last time I moved.   See if you have any lying around

we did the "runaround for free boxes" thing countless times, but it got really old. the $50 we paid for boxes was worth the time/gas/hassle savings.

The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. Awesome! Thanks guys

I collected boxes for months before our last move and ended up with a thousand tiny boxes and it was a pain.

I know you fellas like you fancy battery powered push mowers and such, but sometimes, a man wants a real mower and a real weed eater. As you all know, we recently bought a new place on a little over half an acre. The back yard has some steep spots, but the front yard is pretty much sloping and smooth, but has a creek at the bottom. I’d been planning on replacing my old Lowe’s brand line John Deere L100 since before we moved, but I bit the bullet to day and bought one...along with a new weed eater. Mower is a John Deere X570 with a 25hp twin cylinder engine, 48” cut, cruise control and a locking rear differential. Mowed my yard with it today and it was awesome. Super pleased. The larger cut along with the hydrostatic transmission cut my actual riding time down from an hour and fifteen minutes to 50 minutes. Towards this fall I’ll be buying the snow blade to push snow this winter, no more shoveling for this fat boy! Also, ordered the HDAP knobby tires, which should be here Tuesday.

Also bought a Stihl FS56 straight shaft weed eater. It’s just a tad shorter than I’d like, but way better than the curved shaft it’s replacing.

Both units come with a 4 year (500 hour for the mower) full coverage warranty. Also came with two sweet John Deere hats.

I don't remember the last time I sat on a conventional riding mower. So it seems they are employing the technology from the zero turns into the regular mowers.

I have a x390 and I have forgotten some of the specifics at this point. That locking rear is crucial, wish I had that. I have the blade and snow thrower. Some of these now have a 6" uncut radius. I have almost two acres to mow.. Cut my mow time in half upgrading from the old 38" lx172 I have.

Good buys

I'm in a similar boat as Ryan, had my old LA105 Lowes special for about 12 years and just inherited a new-to-me x300 thanks to my father-in-law downsizing to a smaller house/yard. How I ever mowed like a peasant all those years with out power steering is beyond me. I can't go back.

I think the attraction to a half way serious lawn tractor vs a zero turn are the attachments. Being able to add a snow thrower on the front is great for those who need it.

One of my neighbors has a JD exactly like the one you got Ryan, he even has the rear wagon attachment. Why though I don't know, his yard is like less than a quarter acre, it's totally overkill Tongue

My landscaper called out with a stomach bug last week and I was not really excited about having to mow myself this weekend in 101+ temps before heat index. A neighborhood Facebook post and an hour later and a neighborhood kid and his dad swung by and got it done. We're finally getting aerated tomorrow and I needed that done; I'm hoping this helps fix our thinning grass in some spots. This internet tells us to overseed after an aeration, anyone have experience with this? My original plan was just to fertilize and let that creeper bermuda do its thing...and I worry a little about mixing strains of grass or reintroducing more weeds like seeding seems to do

First  off, congrats on the new home Ryan! I'm starting to miss having some property...

I agree with the tractor vs zero turn idea for a homeowner. If you need a tractor, you can probably benefit from being able to use attachments. Good call on the straight trimmer too, I picked up a curved one time and tried to turn it over into "edger" position and it was awkward as hell.

I just realized that my current mower a typical 26" self propelled Troy-Bilt with Briggs and Stratton is a solid 12-13 yrs old now and never a problem. After my last mow I noticed the grass had really bad brown tips and looked like it was ripped instead of cut. Used by grinder to sharpen things up and got a nice clean cut. I've sharpened it a couple times before, but it was probably 3-4 yrs since the last.

Oh, and I had sex so I wouldn't have to cut my lawn:

Lee, my big post about aeration got deleted but it turned out really good following my brothers advice. He is in charge of all the park property (common land, sports fields, etc.) in a town in NC, I'll see what he says about bermuda specifically and pass that on.
