Oh shit, didn't realize that was Jon Hamm doing the voiceover. So far I'm really liking Legion. It seems like they're doing a good job of balancing mystery and confusion vs payoff. I hate shows that throw too many mystery boxes at you with no commensurate payoff with the mystery being unraveled.

The first one they did i legitimately thought it was a Mercedes commercial (not one of the ones i posted here.)
Yeah - it's not just weird and trippy for the sake of it (most of the time) - it largely all has a point and nothing is brought up for no reason (even the colors of the scenes lend clues.) It's a blast to watch.

One show I've gotten into recently after a few recommendations is Into the Badlands.
It's basically a post-apocalypse action-drama with martial arts instead of gun play. The fight choreography is pretty good, and the set and costume design are top notch. Seasons 1 & 2 are on Netflix, season 3 starts next week.
Overall I liked both seasons I've seen, my only gripe is there's a bit of overacting from the main villain in season 2, and the finale was a bit overwrought. Either way looking forward to the next season, along with Westworld season 2.

We've been trying to finish Westworld S1 for like six months and can't manage it. We're actually 1/3 thorough the final episode and can't be bothered to finish. Feels like it's been done and there's zero investment in the characters for us. :-\

What? You are the first person I've heard of not liking Westworld.
My opinion of it is so high I'm worried season 2 can't possibly live up to the 1st season. Season 1 is my favorite all time season for any TV show.

It's not bad, it's just not terribly interesting to me and my wife.
S1 is 88% on rotten tomatoes, so we're clearly the minority but not totally crazy.

One part Battle Royale, one part Ex Machina, and one part Matrix in a western theme... which isn't particularly interesting to me.
The wife and I discussed character development about a month ago and we agreed Bernard was the only character that was remotely interesting. Maybe the last hour of the season redeems it, but we've had no desire to bother watching it.
edit: We also tried three times to get into Breaking Bad and couldn't... so, clearly my tastes are way different than most people here.

Holy crap Westworld. What an interesting premiere.I need to rewatch the last 15-20 minutes because I think I was falling in and out of sleep. That was an intense episode with a lot of questions left to answer.

The gunplay in S2E1 was pretty brutal. A lot of extra punch with all of the guests running in terror and getting viciously gunned down. I particularly enjoyed the guy who was all like, "My lawyers are gonna sue to shit out of you-*BLAM!*". It's like Occupy Wall St x Terminator
I thought the acting of Maeve and Dolores was really good in this episode. Lots of layers, with Dolores seething with sinister-ness.

Not sure how I feel about the last two episodes of Westworld. On one hand they are making it open with a lot of questions about wtf is going on. On the other it's getting a little too much, confusing, and a little annoying? Too many things going on :dunno:

Last nights episode of Westworld was one of the best of the series. That felt more like a movie than a tv show episode.
